Star Trek Goof Ups

Its always fun meeting and geeking out with strange new lifeforms at sci-fi conventions. Now lets warp back in time. Heres 'Telstars' masterful spin on Star Trek in January 1975. Its such a classic goof up, its why I want to thank Fred over at MyStartrekScrapbook whos on sabbatical  Give Fred a shout out when you get a chance!

The National Star, Telstar published a story about 'Star Trek Monsters' invading the city! which is pretty cool in my book, except these monsters look a little bit suspect!

Its 1975 remember, drug crazed 'Kiss' fans boldly trekked out to New York's Americana Hotel with no worries about making spectacular sensations of themselves. Ask yourself, who in their right mind does this stuff? The 'Kiss' fan on the right is decorated with a glittery tinsel garland!

Admittedly these guys do look perfect for Halloween or even the circus. I mean, just look at how they're dressed. When I first clapped eyes on these strange sensations I nearly burst myself laughing.

Some of the girls outfits were so skimpy cameramen were tripping over their wires.

Read Fred's news clipping below.

The real kicker comes when 'Telstar' MISTAKES our glittery 'Kiss' friends invading the city....... (drum roll) for actual Star Trek Fans!!!

What are your favorite science fiction goof ups?

Is Telstar's slipshod reporting a case of mistaken identities or do real Star Trek 'Monsters' exist in our universe, maybe right next door to you?

Merry Trekmas

Remember the olden days, 3 years ago when Leonard Nimoy hosted Star Trek's movie premiere in Austin, Texas at the Alamo Draft Theater? Star Trek's much loved classic vulcan ran away with the show. Fans were originally invited to a screening of the 1982 film "The Wrath of Khan" with the 10 minute preview of J.J Abrams star trek 2009 movie. Then the fun starts, 'What happened to the film?' queried Leonard Nimoy.

Someone answers, 'It went on fire!'

The Mystery and suspense was simply wonderful sending electrified trekkie vibes blasting off into space.

'Wouldn't you rather see the whole movie?'  funs Leonard...

Robert Orci, Alec Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof originally voiced concerns about taking on trek because of its established sci-fi weight. Since 2009 J.J. Abrams has us all believing that Star Trek's original story details are unnecessary. I love watching these videos because they're FUN, NOSTALGIC and its CHRISTMAS!

Star Trek Into Darkness Teaser Facts

Today Trek is boldly going into the depts of darkness. Its different and dare I say, exciting. The new Star Trek Into Darkness teaser has an awesome minute less than its predecessor, now beaming into theaters all over the nation. The amazing USS Enterprise NCC 1701 was hiding apparently, submerged on the planet Nibiru, under water no less, so boldly NOT exploring anything. Instead she sits there, we're talking DEEP, UNDERCOVER and get this... the reason? is to preserve Nibiru's natural development by upholding the Prime Directive!!!

So I'm reserving judgement until Trek's Into Darkness premieres on May 17th 2013. I have to admit, being just a wee trek fanboy, Star Trek's new teaser trailer has raised allot of questions in my mind over the weekend.

QUESTIONS

1. Whos owns the mystery hands separated by the glass?
2. Cryogenic frozen pods smacks of a Kahn connection. Is there some poor unfortunate inside these things?
3. What is the Nibiru volcanic creatures purpose? Could it be the same as the whales in Star Trek IV, the Voyage Home?
4. Why did Kirk zap the squeaking biped creature? Maybe it just wanted to snack!
5. A starship takes a nosedive into water like something out of thunderbirds and I'm wondering, Has Kirk hijacked the USS Enterprise NCC 1701 again to go on a heroic rescue spree?

6. Why is Chekov wearing a Red Shirt. Will he say, 'I can do zat!?'
7. Its official Benedict Cumberbatch is John Harrison but why is he locked up in brig confinement?
8. Klingons are the tip of the spear! Whats their involvement and with whom?
9. Will the starship under water last long enough or end up like the most forgotten car in Earth's history and rust to death? Is this the USS Enterprise, Kirk and Bones take cover aboard, because it looks like the titanium hull has all the integrity and strength of a piece of plasticine. Poor Scotty!
10. Is Spock going to say goodnight from inside a firey volcano?
11. Did you find Uhuras and Spock's farewell kiss touching? Will Uhura save her vulchie or let him fry?
12. Has the volcanic creature got special powers?

A wonderful mix of trekkers and Hobbit fans packed into the audience dying to see Bilbo Baggins, Smaug and the tunnel creature Gollum on Friday. What wonderful sorcerery, shapeshifting, and wizardry I thought and all with, Goblin and Orc fans surrounding me. Weird. Awesome. I'm a trekkie, d-m it! I shouldn't be feeling this way. LOL. The accents were easy enough to follow but I really beamed in for IMAX for one reason only. To catch the latest scoop on Star Trek Into Darkness.

Trekmovie, I09 and Screenrant do a brilliant job dishing the latest trek spoilers for every sci fi fan who lives, sleeps and eats over Star Trek on planet earth. So why should they have all the fun?

J.J. Abrams is directing Star Trek Into Darkness off a screenplay by Alex Kurtzman, Damon Lindelof and Roberto Orci. Starring Chris Pine, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, Anton Yelchin and Simon Pegg.
Star Trek Into Darkness hits cinemas in (regular and IMAX 3D) on May 17th, 2013.

What did you like about Star Trek's teasers over the weekend? Who is your favorite Star Trek Into Darkness character? Do you think the hands 'farewell' will make you cry?

Abrams Trek Into Darkness With Fan

Star Trek director J.J. Abrams had a fireside chat with a fellow movie/trek fan during the week. I must say it was exciting to see him hanging out with a fellow trekker. Abrams revealed Star Trek Into Darkness is clearly for movie fans, telling us theres plenty of stuff in the movie for trek fans to enjoy also, expounding on extra tid bits about the villain. Heres the entire transcript.

Trekker: The shock that we've seen in the Japanese trailer and we've seen in the foreword trailer of two hands separated by glass, of course for any trek fan that feels like Star Trek 2: Wrath of Khan and you have to know that, you're a smart man.

Abrams: Of course, but heres the thing, (pause) This movie you know was not made for Star Trek fans, it was made for movie fans but if you're a Star Trek fan, I think you'll be really happy, theres allot of stuff in here for you. (WOO HOO! I'm SOOOO EXCITED,) umm but we couldn't just make the movie only for fans of Star Trek. The thing about the movie that I love also is we didn't even make it for fans of the first film we did. You know allot of sequels I've seen, eh tend to assume you love the characters and know them really well and you know get off being in the movie, sort of to a fast start where you don't have any sense of investing in the character from the beginning. So we try and treat this as a movie that works on its own, certainly its a sequel, certainly if you saw the first movie great, you don't have to seen the first film. So this movie is kinda its own thing but there are definitely nods to prior trek lore in the film.

Trekker: Benedict's character which obviously you know has been subject to much umm speculation... Abrams: ehem (in agreement) Trekker: ...his name is John Harrison. Harrison is the name of the character on 'Space Seed' (Star Trek's classic series) and is that something I'm reading way too much into or is that coincidence?

Abrams: sighs in amusement: God you're such a geek
.
Trekker: grins and chuckles, I went to Star Trek conventions don't act surprised...

Abrams: I love it. Ehhh rather than.. you know, answer anything that would sort of give away the fun of the movie, I would say the character Benedict plays, eh, you know, he he brings, I mean, such an incredible like power. His voice alone is unbelievable eh, you know. I actually just as a joke should have had him read the lunch menu.

Trekker laughs and jests, That could have been the first teaser.

Abrams: I'm telling you it would have been like egg salad sandwich. He makes anything sound great. eh, he brings such a force to it that, eh, I think when you see the movie, hopefully this character, all speculation aside, will be really compelling not because of any connection to anything you know...past but because of kind of who he is and what he thinks of.

Trekker: Is his character (Benedict) shrouded in mystery in the film or are his motivations and back stories part of a plot or do we know who he is from the get go?

Abrams: No no no, the whole thing, not just his back story but his agenda, his plan, his secret, all of that is what I think, for me at least, makes him such a frightening and cool villain... but also, the real villains, when they're not just 2d, you know, angry vengeful types, eh, don't see themselves as the bad guy. They are the good guy and have complete rationale and motivation. So I think true to form, the character you know, that Benedict plays, you know has an absolute sense of right and wrong, and he's on the right side.'

Is it possible Star Trek's Into Darkness villain is a Gary Seven character? (read last bit) hehe.
Do you think Abrams is the master puppeteer?

Star Trek Into Darkness Trailer

Trek vibes over at Trekmovie points to a Khan/Gary Mitchell toss up bringing war to the streets of earth. We also get shots of a ship rising up out of the ocean which fits with Cumberbatch detonating the fleet. Cumberbatch's character is definitely on a thrill to kill but why tell Kirk and crew 'I have returned' except to terrorize.

If this is Gary Mitchell where are his glowing eyes? The gun signifies a hateful thing and yet if you carry one, you'll come out top trump in arguments. Remember how Kirk got his own way in Star Trek 2009. 'I got your gun.'  Guns give you an immense sense of power and power is an aphrodisiac.

This may well be an instrument of satan but it is unbelievably sexy. Its interesting to see guns in Star Trek Into Darkness. Star Trek's philosophy used to be fundamentally good filled with optimistic explorers who should never submit to 'god' greed or dogma, reason is supposed to be better than violence but is it more exciting to watch?

When I look at this trailer its easy to see why the gun and violence is changing the course of Star Trek history in a truly appalling way and yet its what we want. Isn't it?

Star Trek Into Darkness Official Poster

I've been over to Trekmovie to catch the latest scoop on Star Trek Into Darkness and we're still clueless about Star Trek's villain. Trek fans say the guy standing on the pile of ashes looking out towards the ruined city could be Gary Mitchel or Garth of Izar but definitely not Khan! Hey what if the bad guy's Finnegan or Trelane or Gary Seven? So what have we got then?

We've got Star Trek's Into Darkness title leading the way into darker territory. A synopsis from last week, a sweet release of Paramount's official poster depicting a war torn world with a rather unstarfleet caped dude searching for something apparently.

Theres little doubt that this is a cool poster. With Star Trek Into darkness trekkers are bracing themselves for the unexpected and outrageous with J.J. Abrams directing. What will raise the stakes and make the drama more intense?

Star Trek Into Darkness Posters

Pehaps we'll see a high speed chase with plenty of explosive action. We'll need something to stir up emotions in the crew so it wouldn't be Abrams without a few more planets imploding and scotty yelling, 'but Captain I'm giving it all shes got!' LOL.

There'll be the usual hanky panky, The best in USS Enterprise crew hand to hand combat, a crew hot on the tracks of one scarey, destructive, explosive villain who leaves nothing but assassination and carnage behind. It'll be the best hour of sci-fi fun you've ever had! At least thats what fans are secretly hoping for.

Now everyone knows space is a dangerous place and when you give chase after a villain you might just die horribly but.. It takes a special kind of nutter to go out into space and have a crack on purpose. Of course I'm talking about Captain James Kirk. Do you think Benedict Cumberbatch has got what it takes to make Nero look like Mr nice guy?

Star Trek Into Darkness Facts

Finally some official Star Trek Into Darkness tid bits released by Paramount on the 27th November is here.... At long last!

In Summer 2013, pioneering director J.J. Abrams will deliver an explosive action thriller that takes Star Trek Into Darkness.

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.

With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.

As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew
.

On the Trek front, Chis Pine can't wait for Star Trek Into The Darkness to be released. Hes excited for folks to see the movie. Its got a great villain from within with a bigger plot than the last one. The sequel's villain played by Benedict Cumberbatch (likely Gary Mitchel wreaking havoc upon earth) is pitted against the new USS Enterprise crew.

We know all the major actors of Star Trek 2009: Bruce Greenwood, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoë Saldana, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, John Cho and Simon Pegg are returning. I suspect Leonard Nimoy will appear too. Cumberbatch is the threat leading them into a trap to 'a war zone world,' terrific conflicts and ripping explosions in the vast unexplored depts of the galaxy.

Chris Pine said that "I'd say the threat is even greater in this one. The force [the enterprise crew] are met with is much more frightening."

Trekmovie reports that the first 9 minute preview of Star Trek Into Darkness will also be kicking off with Peter Jackson's IMAX 3D screening of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey due out on December 14th. So allot of our suspicions will likely be confirmed in two weeks. Trekkers will also be able to see the traditional 2D version, (available at NON-IMAX screenings) ahead of the Hobbit's (Dec 14th) premier and additional films the following weekend. So we've got a choice. 9 mins preview in 3D or Trek's 2D trailer. Are you excited enough to go to both? Are you all in for the Hobbit to catch the latest on Trek's Into Darkness?. How about it? Is Spock going to die? Guess Long and Prosper, trekkers and trekkies

TrekWars Battle of the Geeks

Sorry guys for missing the 'I Miss You Blogfest.' I was caught hopping galaxies when my Shuttlecraft reactor engines blew up in the Andromeda Galaxy cutting me off from Ninja Command Headquarters.

Film Riot on Vimeo.

So heres a little Sci Fi comedy to make you laugh. In this Trek Wars video Star Trek fan is chilling with his friend kicking back some chips, enjoying sci-fi, watching (J.J. Abram's) Star Trek 2009 on tv. Now you may think what you don't know can't hurt, right? Wrong! It soon emerges that Trek dudes friend is a Star Wars fan meaning a battle of epic proportions will ensue after the full fatal disclosure. Its funny watching these dorks geeking out. Let the trek wars games begin. I love the bit,

'Dude, you bring a lightsaber to a phaser fight?'

Trekker guy should've laughed at Star Wars guy except the unexpected happens. Its like DUDE, you're such a nerd for not knowing this!!! (Star Wars guy swishes his lightsaber around, stunning his Star Trek mate with a fascinating, shocking sci-fi revelation. So what happens when you shoot a phaser at a light saber? Who wins the green light saber vs phaser battle? hmm. You decide.

Science Fiction Super-hero 100

Superman topped the Stratego Top 100 Sci FI character list recently as the Greatest Science Fiction Character of all Time beating Star Wars and Dr Who. Star Trek too sniff. Its great news for super hero fans everywhere to know that Christopher Reeves 'Man of Steel' from planet Krypton lives on. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No Its Superman!

There is light at the end of the wormhole for Star Trek fans too! Trek's longest running classic show with the original series Captain Kirk (played by William Shatner) commander of the USS Enterprise NCC 1701 reached lucky No 7 spot. Good ol' Jean Luc Picard from TNG made 10th. In second place was Han Solo of Star Wars, while Jedi master Yoda, was third in the poll voted for by 2000 people living in the UK..

Why is it Star Wars always pips Star Trek at the post?

I was delighted to see Ellen Ripley, heroine from Alien Movies and Galaxy Quest fighting her way in at 21st position because Ripley's an awesome female lead. Remember Gorman? 'Do Something!!!' F**K.'

I'm surprised Sigourney Weaver didn't get a higher poll position but you can blame Cabin in the Woods for denting her tough-guy reputation.

Its kind of funny to see 'Ripley' get booted off into an abyss without yelling or clawing her way back.

The highest ranked female in Stratego poll marks the release of a new sci fi game with Ripley taking names and kicking butt no less. Ah ha, favouritism! I hear you say but rest assured this Sci Fi Warrior made a lasting impression on me in a galaxy long, long ago.

I'm satisfied Ripley's ranking over Princess Leia from STAR WARS who trailed in after her at No 25 is much deserved. Now I bet theres a fight worth seeing?

Who's your Favorite Science Fiction hero?

Disney Saves Star Wars

I guess you've heard the news circulating this week about Star Wars being 'assimilated' into Disney's collective.

A huge showbiz marriage took place with Disney buying Lucasfilm. Luke Skywalker, Vader, R2D2 and Princess Leia are all joining the Disney family in a sweet 4 billion Disney deal.

Word has it Star Wars Head Honcho, George Lucas has officially relinquished control of the 'Empire' to Disneyworld. Kathleen Kennedy, current co-chairman of Lucasfilm is taking the reins as President of Lucasfilm with Lucas advising like a hologram for future films.

'It's now time for me to pass 'Star Wars' on to a new generation of filmmakers. I've always believed that 'Star Wars' could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime.'

The announcement last Tuesday by Disney's chairman Robert Iger of a new Star Wars trilogy has stirred up allot of fan excitement. The seventh episode in the Star Wars series is scheduled for 2015.

The good news is, Disney now has a rich movie universe of characters to play around with to breathe new life into Star Wars. Fans can expect more from film, television, interactive media and consumer products. Disney will build Princess Leia and Vader' theme parks with live entertainment, boldly going where Star Wars has never been before. Maybe now is the right time to harp on with "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the Force?'

Simon Pegg who played Scotty from Star Trek's last 2009 movie is happy with Disney and Star Wars. 'For the record, I have no problem with Disney, I am a huge fan and I'm sure it's actually good news for Star Wars fans.' He also cracked, 'Does this mean Leia is now a Disney princess? She'll have to go get her nails done with Ariel and lend Pocahontas her metal bikini.' he tweeted.

The question remains: Which characters from the Star Wars franchise will Disney resurrect? Do you think theres any chance Darth Vader could be reincarnated alongside Mickey Mouse, Goofy or Donald Duck for children's cartoons? Are you looking forward to seeing Princess Leia in a Theme Park with Mickey Mouse? Doesn't Disney Wars have a nice ring to it?

Sith Long and Prosper.

Star Trek Salt Vampire Monster

My choice for Monster Monday is the Salt Vampire aka The M113 creature in Star Treks classic episode 'The Man Trap.' Shes the last of an intelligent species which beams aboard the USS Enterprise and gives Captain James T. Kirk the shock of his life, hehe. You gotta love this episode with those sad drooping eyes and spikey fangs staring back at you played out by Sharon Gimpel.

This monster is enough to to give anyone the heebie geebies for Halloween. Perfect costume for tricker treating eh? So ask yourself one little thing. Could that lovely face actually have a conscience or a cold calculating mind? Each of M113's fingers has three sucker like feeding organs designed to suck the salt out of humans! So be on your guard trekinators for Salt Vampires! LOL!

Remember When the USS Enterprise's landing party first encountered it? Dr McCoy gets hot and bothered over Nancy Cramer, Kirk saw a confident middle aged woman in her 40's and Green saw a pretty fetching blonde. Each crew member saw a trustworthy or appealing lifeform, however all is not what it seems. In reality what they were really looking at was the Salt Vampires telepathic trickery.' It really had no other way to communicate with the USS Enterprise crew or Proffessor Robert Crater.

The Salt Vampire's neat trick immobilized and captured its prey very easily. Unfortunately the monster sees humans as FOOD but before snacking, it captures an image from its victims minds and then hypnotizes them.  Its a deadly monster that doesn't just kill feasting off salt, it renders humans defenceless torturing them as it moves in for YUM 'meal time.'  So watch out Trekkie, you might just meet one for Halloween! Hehe.

Spock survived only thanks to his copper based blood! LOL. Why do you think the Salt Vampire looked so sad? Was it because she ate so much salt? perhaps time had caught up with the old devil? How old do you think she was? Maybe the Salt vampire had a conscience after all?

Did you enjoy the cool music video for The Man Trap by Five Year Mission?

 What is your favorite Monster?

Paranormal Activity 4

An outgoing bunch of thrill seekers are all set for a special screening of Paranormal Activity 4 which hit cinemas on 17th October. I guess part of the fun is knowing .....the boogeyman is waiting for YOU. LOL.

Isn't it nice looking at everyone lined up at the box office waving merrily, full of good cheer?

Bring it on WORLD.

Fear roots willing victims to their seats as high blood pressure and stress hormones soar, gripping everyone in the audience as they lean forward!

Take a good look at the shocked staring eyes gripped by the horror unfolding before them. The girl in the front seat is on red alert. Her eyes are clearly focused on something horrid quickening her impulses.

Why isn't anyone tucking into popcorn or candy and washing it all down with thirst quenching coke or 7up?

Now is a good time to show off your macho side by jumping to your girl friend's rescue and being her hero, hehe. JUMPING, get it? Oh well, I tried. Look at the poor mite in the front row sobbing her poor little heart out. Awww.

Are you bad enough to face the BOOGEYMAN?

Is Paranormal Activity 4 freaky enough to CREEP you OUT? Whats the verdict?

Netflix Star Trek Streaming

Excited about the wonderful universe of Star Trek episodes streaming into your life? Took the plunge and signed up for Netflix? Its been a couple of months now since a deal was struck between CBS and Netflix making Netflix the first online service to deliver Star Trek without commercials.

I wonder whatever happened to the needs of the many and all that jazz? Oh well. Hopeful, European trekkers probably wouldn't have minded some 'advertisements.' The current CBS/Netflix deal is exclusive to the USA only which means lots of saddened trekkies are missing out on the fun.

The good news is Netflix have CBS trek licencing for only two years with options for another 2 so who knows? Fans can watch Star Trek episodes on line with their Netflix ready TV, XBox360, 3d, PS3, Wii,  mobile phones or tablets which is neat.

Netflix have confirmed they will be streaming every episode of every season for all five live-action Star Trek series: the original Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: Enterprise. Curiously the only show not included in the CBS deal is the 70's Star Trek The Animated Series. I guess some things weren't meant to be for now...

UPDATE:  Netflix just got the green light to air ST TAS! GAME ON Trekinators!

Star Trek TNG will be the first to hit Netflix with direct digital streaming taking the web by storm leaving ITunes in the dust. Its awesome seeing Star Trek TNG as a popular trek series yet again!!! 25 years after its original debut aired in 1987!!! LOL.

                                                        MAKE IT SO!

Which Star Trek show do you want to see in direct digital streaming? signed for Netflix? Do European trekkies or Canadian trekinators have just cause for concern?

Star Trek TNG Redemption (with Klingons)

'Lursa and B'Etor are feared. And fear is power.' Chancellor Gowron

Who are Lursa and B'Etor? Lursa and B'Etor are two seductive power hungry, Klingon females and a force to be reckoned within the Klingon Empire except for one little chink in their Klingon armor. Their brother Duras got swift justice at the receiving end of a curved bat'leth in 2367 for killing Worf's mate K'Ehleyr. Why I hear you ask? True warriors live by the Klingon Code of Honor which boils down to loyalty, honor and courage etc. The House of Duras apparently failed to appreciate that such a code even existed. That left Gowron next in line to succeed K'mpec as High Chancellor which didn't sit well with the sisters, at all. Lets have some fun with Star Trek TNG history.

In Star Trek's TNG 'Redemption' episode Barbara March's Lursa appears with her smaller foxy sister B'Etor played by Gwynyth Walsh for the first time. Its fair to say these two lovelies are united in their quest for power, conspiring with Romulans, hatching secretive plots to achieve only one thing. Control of the Klingon Empire! How trustworthy can they really be?

'Klingons do not surrender their weapons.'

The sisters are eventually exposed for Romulan double dealing but manage to escape and hook up with Dr Tolian Soran in Star Trek Generations. You remember him? He's the guy that snuffed Captain Kirk under that corny bridge scene bringing a dismal end to one of Science Fictions most iconic characters.

In 1991, when Redemption first aired on TV I recall being fascinated by the Duras sisters cunning treachery which added a crisp, wonderful tension between the characters in TNG's Redemption. These gutsy gals were determined to have a go at the Leadership by presenting their nephew and rightful 'male heir' Toral to the Klingon High Council.

When I saw that cocky kid strut his stuff into the Great Hall of the Klingon Home world, I was stumped and a little impressed by his sheer cheek. Not bad....but Toral gotta have some nerve. Alot of nerve going in their confronting those blood thirsty klingons! Gowron was enraged and leapt up from his council throne with his warriors d'k tahg in his hand.... (Go on Gowron, GET HIM!) A boy leader challenging the High Council with no love for duty or combat! You've got to be having a laugh......

In a flash Gowron's crazed eyes were alight with hatred but then a grin appears on his face. "Don't make me laugh" as he nearly busts a gut laughing. Toral is defiant but strangely unnerved for a boy that wanted to be chancellor. Murmurs of dissension echo the chamber.

Gowron continues. "What harlets lair did you find him in Lursa?"

Humiliation is written all over Toral's face. Gowron rejects the defiant klingon and the council is split. Its not like the boy's true blood lines aren't suspect or a bitter pill to swallow. Still good ol' Captain Picard does his Arbiter of Succession bit by refusing Toral's leadership challenge plunging the Klingon Empire into civil war chaos, pitting Klingon against Klingon. Gowron eventually becomes chancellor of the Empire except its not over.

'Do you hear the cry of the warrior calling you to battle, calling you to glory?'

I find it interesting Gowron's restoration of Worf's family honor came at a price. Discommendation was a heavy cross for Worf to shoulder alone. Sure, Worf no longer had to be the Fall Guy for Duras's treachery, (the guy who poisoned K'mpec) so now Gowron wants Worf's allegiance and its time to pay the piper. Worf is torn between Starfleet duty and his loyalty to the Klingon Empire. You'd think Picard would've given Worf some much deserved leeway here but instead Jean Luc plays hardball. The conclusion to Star Trek's TNG Redemption P1 ends with a real tear jerker when warrior Worf tells Picard:

'Then I resign my Starfleet commission as a Starfleet Officer.'

Star Trek Into Darkness Newsflash

Paramount Pictures announced recently that J.J. Abram's Star Trek Into Darkness is currently underway adding the principal photography touches to the new movie apparently. This little piece of trek news sparked my tricorder into life! Why I hear you ask? Look closely at the characters in this picture. Whose humanoid 'features' strikes you as being preserved for the big occasion on May 17th 2013?

This photo captures a cool stitch in time which is why its so fun looking at them, hehe. Returning to their USS Enterprise post's are John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, and Anton Yelchin. They are joined by new cast members Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller. Trekkie instincts tell me Leonard Nimoy is along for trek's sequel with the give away in this photo.

I suppose its probably still a little too early to guess with absolute certainty but.... anyone? what do you think?

Chris Pine, who is currently in New York City filming with Kevin Costner, shared details on Star Trek's Into Darkness sequel. He avoided specifics but gave us a flavour on what direction our Enterprise heroes are going, pitched with an exciting overall tone outlining Star Trek Into Darkness.

"There’s comedy, which I think J.J. does a great job of, but, like the first one, there’s some serious issues being dealt with. And I’d say the threat is even greater in this one. The force (the Enterprise crew) are met with is much more frightening.

It’s relentlessly action-packed and in terms of character development it goes places you’d never expect. The ARC is huge FOR ALL THE CHARACTERS. It’s a really big story – I can’t hype it enough!" Thanks Chris, now for the hype! Looking at Alice Eve, one character really springs to mind! "I'm a healthy amount of time in the makeup chair — though not as long as Spock," Eve revealed. "We were filming until very late last night, and I know that's all I can say. It's a top-secret operation, it's like a war." Star Trek Into Darkness has wrapped up tight doing even Top Secret CIA operators proud until its theatrical release on May 17th, 2013.

Can you guess who Alice Eve will be playing?

Walter Koenig's Star in Hollywood

Legendary Star Trek actor Walter Koenig finally got his reward last Monday for playing Chekov aboard the USS Enterprise NCC 1701.

Looking back on series now, Koenig is the last cast member from classic trek to earn his spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame two days after Star Trek's 46th anniversary.

In the original TV show our navigator steers the ship through thick and thin but hes probably best remembered for his quirky pronunciations. In Star Trek IV Chekov's Russian accent provides good comic relief in a scene when he asks for the location of Nuclear Wessels and is epic in Star Trek 2009.

His wife Judy Levitt, daughter Danielle, fellow co-stars Leonard Nimoy (Spock) George Takei (Sulu) and a radient Nichelle Nichols (80) (Uhura) joined Walter at Tinsel Towns sidewalk for the star-unveiling celebration.

“This is something that you hope and wish for, dream about, but something you never expect to really happen, 'It's a joyous occasion and I am deeply honoured.'said Walter after allot of people inundated the Walk of Fame Committee so they decided last year that he would receive a star.

Who's your favorite Star Trek or science fiction character? Do you think Nichelle Nichols takes a beauty potion for staying so young and beautiful?

Star Trek Into Darkness

Trekmovie sources have just confirmed the title for J.J. Abrams Star Trek 2013 sequel movie. They're calling it 'Star Trek Into Darkness,' so now the word is given with Paramount's blessing, apparently. Star Trek is crossing over into the DARK SIDE!!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? YESSSS! We've been waiting for this all our lives, right? It couldn't have been easy for the Team Abrams but I reckon its sounds pretty frackin' awesome and conspiratorial too. How cool is this, I mean really? Imagine a mirror, mirror verse Spock wreaking havoc on the Enterprise's young guns! And who's playing angry Spock, Leonard Nimoy, right? Okay so theres gaps in my theory which maybe you can fill in but hey it'll be worth the wait.

Unlike the Dark Knight, Superman and Spiderman theres really no straight forward superhero for Star Trek to cape up and save the universe. Hence the mysterious title which sounds very cloak and daggery and classified too which is great but the suspense is the real killer. I suspect we're not going to get the whole enchilada until the USS Enterprise hits the cinema theaters on May 17th 2013. So why did Paramount and Team Abrams choose 'Star Trek Into Darkness' for the title? Secrecy of course but you knew that!

I'm guessing Star Trek's villain could be DEEP UNDERCOVER, a saboteur on a highly classified Top Secret mission sent by the Mirror-verse Empire. Perhaps this is where time travelling secret agent Gary Seven makes his rescue bid, saving the Enterprise, foiling with Evil Spock in a desperate attempt to restore the timeline before the villainous Empire defeats the friendly Federation! So far, so good but who knows? Sevens secretary played by Alice Eve? mesmerises Evil Spock by turning into a sexy feline cat giving Gary Seven enough time to zap pointy ears, hehe.

Feverish Speculation over whos really playing Star Trek's darkside villain is truly testing trek fans ever since Karl Urban told us trek's villain was going to be Gary Mitchel, LOL and now we're even more clueless, since Abram's sleigh ride began, LOL.

Who do you think is Star Trek's Into Darkness villain?

Heres a list to help confuse you even more, LOL but do go on, have a go! Its all for a good cause.

Spaceman

Neil Armstrong, Earth's Amazing Spaceman died over the weekend at the great age of 82. Hero to generations, NASA's Apollo 11 commander boldly took earthies to the moon where no-human has gone before. 237,000 miles away humanities hopes and dreams became a reality spreading throughout the stars, lighting up tv screens on Earth. What an awesome achievement. One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.... and it sure was.

Star Trek's TNG 25th Anniversary

Its great seeing our Enterprise Picard troops together again, flying the flag high one more time for ol' times sake. 2012 brought our legendary TNG super heroes back laughing and poking fun at each other as they recounted 7 years of galloping around the galaxy with even the dancing doctor getting in on the act. You'll love the 'Get Riker Free story', lol.

To celebrate Star Trek's TNG 25th Anniversary,TNG hit cinemas with Star Trek THE NEXT GENERATION, debuting in Blu Ray. It was like warp speed ahead Mr Crusher, I want all the power you can muster mister. But Captain if I push the engines any harder she'll blow up! Hehe! I love these lines even though none of them were really spoken on TNG.

The good news is 'The New' BLU RAY version of TNG (season 1 and 2) is ready and extended with new visual effects. You'll discover little details you never saw before and it gets better. The shows episodes appear more vibrant and real as trek was really meant to be. Season 1 has Exclusive Special Features including never before seen archival footage, Brand New Interviews with key players, Gag Reel and more.

Each of the 178 episodes spanning The Next Generation's seven seasons will eventually be reworked. Don't worry if you missed TNG's big blu ray day. You can always stump up the cash for Star Trek's BLU RAY boxsets now they're fully re-edited in TNG DVD format, LOL. Enjoy!

Is this really Patrick Stewart?

Patrick Stewart, Simon Pegg and Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) roam the streets of london and meet gold medalist Ryan Lochte. What a coinincidence! Stewart is in cunning disguise as a light fingered ticket touter but is it really him? Hes funny to watch. Simon Pegg arrives on the scene dully unimpressed by the captain's shenanigans but hey, its the London Olympics! Who cares so long as you get a front row seat.

Stewart cocks it up perfectly and says,

Strike me! Mr Pegg can I just say, I think you were fukin' marvelous in Star Wars! MARVELOUS!

Heres a tale in the ancient art of ticket scalping. I suspect Ryan Lochte might just be a little sore when he wakes up.

Robotic Lifeform

A sentient robot would be a really marvelous feat of engineering, wouldn't it? Imagine having your very own robotic slave to love! You could say goodbye to homework and hoovering around the house forever! Mowing the lawn too would become a thing of the past. Today's impressive robots have computer brains to analyse planets, assemble cars and hoover carpets. What kind of redeeming robotic qualities would you build into an A.I. if your starship crash landed on a deserted planet?

1. Would you build a kind, superior or mean robot? (I beg you to reconsider if you choose the mean machine! Lol!)
2. Would your robot be the friendly type and keep you company into the night?
3. Would your robot be able to learn, play and enjoy itself in its time off?
4. Would your robot be designed to emulate human feelings or have real ones?
5. Would your robot ever disobey your orders, or be completely fail safe with an on off switch?
6. Would your robot be specifically programmed to answer questions with an exhaustive computer memory salvaged from your starship?
7. Would your robot ever complain and say, 'Hey dude, Time Out!'? Hehe...
8. Could your robot ever re-program itself to become more human?
9. Would your robot obey the three laws of Robotics?
10. Would your robot have the strength of 10 men or one?
11. Would you construct a tough emotionless waterproof robot or build a friendly human A.I. that short circuits when it gets wet.
12. Is the kindness and warmth of your robots character more important than its pure intellect?

(You can choose a combination for your answers and add your own)

Dream long and prosper, trekinators.

Nichelle Nichol's encounter with MLK.

In 1966 Nichelle Nichols starred as Lt Nyota Uhura for three seasons in Star Trek's classic series going boldly where no woman has gone before. Heres the audio with Nichelle Nichol's telling her story, its quite fascinating really. For some reason the stars were smiling on Nichelle that faithful weekend when she ran into her biggest fan, Martin Luther King at a Los Angeles NAACP dinner.

During conversation it emerged Nichelle had decided to close her hailing frequencies once and for all. The news didn't go down well with Gene Roddenberry or Martin Luther King who told Nichelle the stark facts of reality. In essense Uhura's character was too important! She showed the nation on tv a universe where African-Americans were seen as they should be seen, Equals. She couldn't abandon the Enterprise now!

Hailing Frequencies Open, trekkers.

Star Trek's 2013 movie sequel

Recently Robert Orci confirmed that Benedict Cumberbatch isn't playing Gary Mitchell in Star Trek's 2013 movie sequel. In his interview with Trekmovie Robert Orci brings us up to warpspeed. For now Star Trek's writers are trying their best not to talk about who Benedict Cumberbatch is playing. You have to hand it to them. This kind of movie chicanery builds more intense trek suspense.

In his exclusive interview he reveals some spoilers about Star Trek 2013 new characters cleverly diverting us away from Karl Urban's villainous statement. Heres what we know.

1. We can expect our first sequel trailer to be rolled out in the fall.
2. Trek's writers are down to final names for the movie.
3. Alice Eve is playing a Canon Character.
4. Noel Clarke and Nanzeen Contractor are New Characters.
5. Peter Weller and Joseph Gatt are New Characters too.
6. and the Biggie...Benedict Cumberbatch is playing a Canon Character!
7. The identity of Star Trek's villain is still Top Secret.
8. We do know Alice Eve and Cumberbatch will be playing unique characters from Star Trek the original series!
9. Some have said over at the studio that Star Trek's sequel is better than the prequel.
10. Gary Mitchell isn't a runner but what about Khan?
11. ILM are adding the special effects right now.
12. Team Abrams are trying to preserve the movie experience by keeping it under wraps for as long as possible!
13. We will see James T. Kirk calling the shots from the USS Enterprise captain's chair.
14. Star Trek 2013 will be shot in 3D format.

ScienceFiction.com suspect 'Karl Urban of having punked fans. So there you have it trekinators. In the good spirit of star trek we got punk'd, good, hehe.

Star Trek 2's latest villain?

Photobucket

Star Trek's latest Enterprising sequel is definitely steeped in a cloak of mystery except now the shields are weakening! I never thought I'd hear myself say, Yesss! Great, Shields Weakening!!! But its true! Earlier this year Star Trek Sci Fi Blog dished the trek about whos gunning the good guys in Star Trek 2's sequel, except we were wrong.

So whos the bad guy? We hear you ask.

FACT: Fans know Star Trek 2's sequel wrapped up filming by June 2012. Star Trek 2 is set to hit cinemas in May 2013.

At Trekmovie Lieutenant Alex Kurtzman stuck to his phasers backing secretive Trek Bosses, whose production plans DIDN'T include spilling the beans about Star Trek or about the movies latest Villain.

FACT: So we've been told little until now...

Set your phasers on silver eyed esper with delusions of Godhood. hehe!

FACT: Apparently, a little birdie resurrected Gary Mitchel!

But who did this and why?

FACT: Speculation is running rife on the internet about why Karl Urban who plays our cranky Dr McCoy dropped his hypo. Rumor has it, Bones kinda blabbed about Star Trek 2's big bad wolf at SFX.

In June Kurtzman stated at Trek Movie 'theres going to be NO Star Trek for San Diego's Comic Con' in July. Something tells me trek's bosses will be sending out damage control parties to Comic Con? The good doctor has given us enough cordrazine high to last us well into 2013.

Urban's slipup at SFX was probably unintentional despite complimenting Cumberbatch, it doesn't take a trekkie to figure out who's going to take on the crew of Star Trek's USS Enterprise NCC 1701.

"He's awesome, he's a great addition, and I think his Gary Mitchell is going to be exemplary."

I can scarcely believe this news is on the web.

Spock Inspects Uhura

It doesn't take a trekkie to realize this cunning little vulcan is up to something. Clearly by all accounts a photo-shop. Its obvious the vulcan's fingers are probing Uhura's Starfleet uniform seeking out new lifeforms purely for scientific research, hehe.

But decide for yourselves. Is Mr Spocks 'personal examination' on Uhura suspect or is the vulcan enjoying himself? I mean look at where he's placed his hands.

But all joking aside... really ask yourself...

Does Spock's investigation counts as a proper Mind Meld?
