Wonderful "Super-Trekkie" Tina

W is for Wonderful Tina. I want to pay tribute to fellow super-Trekkie, Tina Downey by remembering her at Star Trek Sci Fi Blog. Tina lived life to the full and co-hosted last years A to Z blogfest stopping by and saying hi to everyone throughout the challenge.

She recently parted company with us last year having battled Pulmonary Hypertension like a true warrior. I say that from the bottom of my heart. She extended a hand to so many people, friends, family, sci-fi fans, bloggers, struggling writers, authors and trekkies stretching right across the blogosphere.

Watching someone you love die from illness is heart breaking so I believe its important to remember Tina for the person she was in life. Tina was a mother, wife, inspiration, a mountain climber, a writer, blogger, lover of sunflowers and proud super-Trekkie.

Can you see what Tina's holding high in her right hand?

So in closing, I just wanted to share with all of you "super-trekkies" and bloggie buddies out there, Tina's wonderful words of support. She really loved Star Trek, stubborn Klingons and Mr Data from ST TNG.

Thank you Tina for being our friend.

"They like me, they really like me."

THANK YOU! I considered Tina a friend, we at some point were like family... she was awesome to everyone she met. She kept motivated during all the bad stuff and held a smile.

THANK YOU for a great post, somewhere she is looking down on us....

Tina was a wonderful friend to both of us, and we still miss her dearly. She always left the most wonderful comments (just like the one you pasted above). It's so awesome to see that our fellow bloggers will never forget her.

That was a great tribute for your dear friend. I'm new to this whole A-Z blogging scene so unfortunately I never met her. Your post makes me wish I had.

Wonderful tribute to Tina. She was such a dear friend. I was one of her minions last year, by request. I was shocked at her death, I had never realised she was so ill, she didn't ever complain.

Tina was a genuine person who took the time to have perfect moments with real people. She will always live on as long as we remember her.

This is a wonderful and loving tribute to Tina who I did not have the pleasure of knowing. I think most of you were blessed to have known her

Hi Spacerguy .. lovely tribute to Tina - and I owe you many a visit ...

Tina and I had a great relationship as I was a minion for two or perhaps three years ... no two! But we nattered away on email ... and we had fun ... I knew she was ill and seriously ill ... so sad and so difficult for her and her family .. that's a great shot of her on top of her mountain - she did live life to the full ...

I still have a Viking post to write for her - after our British Museum exhibition ... I managed one on the language and how it's affected English in an ongoing way .. but the Viking story I still need to get up.

I wrote a post for her in September last year in the Blogfest we did for her ... I still miss her hugely ...

Cheers and thanks for posting this under your W for Wonderful Tina .. great memories .. Hilary

Thanks everyone! Tina was special.

I really appreciate you taking the time to share how much Tina meant to you Hilary. Tina was remarkable, she persevered and gave selflessly to others. She laughed, loved, lived and shared her life with all of us.
