Star Trek TNG The Perfect Mate

Three years before Bond girl Xenia Onatopp, Famke Janssen guest starred in Star Trek The Next Generation, The Perfect Mate. You may recal she played the beautiful Kriosian Empath, Kamala who makes a rather lasting impression as a cracking "empathic metamorph." Kamala senses her mates desires which is what makes her so alluring. Can Captain Picard like resist her charms? You decide.

"Nothing, Nothing lies beneath. I'm really quite dull. I fall asleep each night with an old book in my hands."
"When a metamorph finds you interesting, do not take it lightly."
"Oh, I'm not taking it lightly, I'm just trying... to be as dull as possible."

The story goes Kamala has been prepared since birth to bond with Alrik, the ruthless ruler of Valt Minor. The hope is her "bonding" will bring peace between two wartorn worlds. Its such a shame really because Kamala has such a beautiful spirit and personality. Famke Janssen is so convincing and expressive in her role as Kamala. As an empath she could sense what any dude wanted and become exactly that. So after the Ferengi incident in the cargo bay interupting her cryosleep and knocking the ancient Kriosian Ambassador senseless, Picard has to step in and spend a lot of time with Kamala. Lucky devil!

You might well ask how Captain Picard resisted Kamala's advances! Curiously Janssens spotty character makeup inspired the look of Jadzia Dax in Star Trek Deep Space Nine. Famke was actually offered the role but turned it down to concentrate on her movie career instead. She appeared in a variety of films including sexy villainess Xenia Onatopp and three turns in the X-men franchise once again opposite Patrick Stewart.

Valeris

V is for valeris but who is she? In Star Trek the Undiscovered Country VI, Kim Cattrall plays the sneaky vulcan, Lieutenant Valeris who sabotages peace talks for her own ends.

Its fun watching the hungover USS Enterprise NCC 1701-A crew trying to piece together the clues in this wonderfully dark Star Trek murder/mystery.  Romulan Ale anyone?

Time is running out for Kirk and Dr McCoy as dark, secretive forces land our heroes in the clink. Kirk's personal log crucifies the duo at the Klingon trial.

Jim! They're setting us up! Your honors, I protest-!

Uhura is horrified...Rura Pentha. Scotty reckons its better ro kill them now and get it over with. Who were the assassins in the white pairs of gravity boots? What motivated Valeris (a top Starfleet Academy graduate) to conspire with the Chancellor Gorkon's Chief of Security, General Chang? Who murdered Gorkon and why? We know from Mr Spock's speech that the Klingon's planet is dying. On the bridge Valeris refuses to give the much needed information to save the Federations presidents life. So Spock mind rapes her.

Did the sly vulcan get what she deserved?

Star Trek TNG Justice

"Justice" is the eighth episode of Star Trek The Next Generation series. Picard's away team find a nice M Class planet called Rubicun III populated with friendly, free and easy humanoids called the Edo. Two scantily clad Edo leaders Rivan (female) and Liator welcome Riker, Deanna, Worf, Tasha Yar and Wesley to their home planet with the traditional Ego greeting.

"Health happiness, pleasant day to you."

Rivan says "And I welcome this huge one, " (She gives the Klingon a long, sensual hug. I had a good chuckle here, wait for it.) Rivan melts into Worfs arms. The dumb Klingon looks over to Commander Riker and says, "Nice Planet!"

Nice Planet!??!!! What Worf? You've got to be kidding me! The Klingons got a babe swooning all over him and all the daft beggar says, is: "nice planet?" Riker was unimpressed. Next it's Wesley's turn and the wiseguys brick'in it, big style. Being a nerd can be a major disadvantage sometimes.

WORF: Nice planet.

And

EDO GIRL
I want to do something too . . . with you. (Great line, lol)

WESLEY
Uh . . . what?

EDO GIRL
It's something you can teach me. Will you?

WESLEY
Uh . . . well, actually, there are some . . . games . . . I don't quite know yet.

Rubicun III is perfect for shore leave... until Wesley Crusher, son of Chief Medical Officer Dr. Beverly Crusher, "drops the ball" (hehe) totally by breaking the absolute law of the Edo world. So what was the Enterprise kid's crime? Unknown to the USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D away team, Rubicun had "punishment zones" scattered throughout their little world which the Klingon, Worf was fast finding out from Tasha Yar. When someone breaks a rule in a randomly-assigned "punishment zone," they're put to death. Law enforcement "Mediators") ask Wesley if he freely admits to the heinous crime of falling on new plants. Wesley stands up straight, deepens his voice, and declares,

"I'm with Starfleet. We don't lie."

The plot thickens with Captain Picard in quite a bind. How will he try to outwit the Edo world's most powerful and mysterious protector? Data calls it the Edo "God" thing.

D is for Dax

D is for Dax but who is she? Dax is the mysterious Star Trek symbiont who joins with the lovely Deep-space Nine Jadzia, who's a Starfleet lieutenant. Theres no easy way to explain this so I'll blurt it out. We're discussing two separate species here. One is a beautiful 28 year old female humaniod with a series of intricate, freckle-like markings from her temples to her shoulders and the other is a large fat slimey worm aka as Dax the warrior.

The good news is the creature shares with the "Trill" (which is really a humanoid shell), a wealth of life experiences and knowledge. The bad news is "Dax" the symbiote is over 300 years old and has made a number of Klingon friends. When Kang, Koloth and Kor come looking for their ol' pal Curzon-Dax, (previous host and creature) they simply couldn't believe their eyes. I guess you might say Jadzia is the ideal fix for a new life in the "witness protection program." Apparently Jadzia studied all her life to become a brilliant scientist and have a slug stuck inside her. Its the greatest honor a trill can give.

Star Trek Mobile App

Here's Dr Carol Marcus played by Alice Eve in the upcoming Star Trek 2013 sequel movie. Remember when Eve said "It's a top-secret operation, it's like a war." Well feast your eyes on her now as she boldly struts her Starfleet stuff for us trekkies to drool over HaHa!

In this video Alice chats with Qualcomm's Chief techie Paul Jacobs about 'the hero making out,' cracking jokes while promoting Star Trek Into Darkness. Apparently the plan was to launch Star Treks mobile app and get fans excited about Paramount's latest tricorder gadget.

Cool if you own an Android device because these trekkie apps are free on Amazon. So now fans can access real world missions, giveaways, and get updates on their smartphone on Star Trek Into Darkness.

You can almost see Dr Carol Marcus's lovely green and blue eyes widening. Maybe Jacobs needs to be less scientific, so she mentions the billboard which was clever..

Star Trek's mobile app is powered by a Gimbal Platform which once translated means 'hive mind' giving humans the technology to analyse alien environments and adapt. I think thats why people love tricorders and smartphones, so much. Its because we're so clueless most of the time and its fun figuring stuff out. Don't you just love scanning for alien lifeforms? I bet you didn't know smartphones have sensors, I sure didn't.  So where shall we begin?

Uhura's got a Gun

Heres the Enterprise code cracker, Uhura, doesn't she look hot enough to fire up your warp engines? The odds are encouraging that Enterprise hailing frequencies go down in J.J. Abrams Star Trek sequel. The yellow hue from the mystery deflector dish tells us something about Uhura's proximity to darkness in this exact location.  Specializing in xenolinguistics, Uhura grabs the top Communications job in Pikes ship (2009) when the guy with the ears tries to sideline her to the USS Farragut. Nyota tells Spock where to get off.

UHURA: Commander, a word.
SPOCK: Yes, Lieutenant?
UHURA: Was I not one of your top students?
SPOCK: Indeed you were.
UHURA: And did I not, on multiple occassions, demonstrate exceptional aural sensitivity, and I quote, "an unparalleled ability to identify sonic anomalies in subspace transmission tests?"
SPOCK: Consistently, yes.
UHURA: And while you were well aware that of own qualified desires to serve on the USS Enterprise, I'm assigned to the Farragut?
SPOCK: It was an attempt to avoid the appearance of favoritism.
UHURA: No, I'm assigned to the Enterprise. (Spock presses some buttons on his PADD)
SPOCK: Yes, I believe you are.
UHURA: Thank you.

Later we see these two kissing each other in the turbo lift. Funny how Uhura kept her first name quiet for so long but I guess Nyota likes to play mind games. I've been doing a little digging on our Communications Officer and it gets better. Uhura is proficient in a whopping 83% of official Federation languages and regional dialects and becomes Vice President of starfleet academy's Chorale Ensemble which is like pretty interstellar amazing.

Here in the photoshoot is Uhura crouched, holding a phaser on the set of Star Trek Into Darkness with the plot unfolding just a little. Interesting I'd say because, 'John Harrison' swoops down and engages in mortal combat with the hooded mysterious entity. Now who could this be I wonder, eh? In the same spot, it would appear Nyota is lying in wait for something..... Cumberbatch's evil entity? Its Red Alert, Could this be pay back time? Uhura looks like a predator ready to exact retribution but for what......for SPOCK???? We still don't know if Spock makes it out of the volcano. John Harrison vs Uhura hmm... So I ask you... How will Uhura get John Harrison to repent for his evil ways?....Does she really have what it takes to pull the trigger?

Zoe Saldana

S is for Zoe Saldana aka Princess Neytiri in Avatar, the highest grossing movie of all time.

33 year old Zoe is the gal in Star Trek's prequel and J.J. Abram's hush hush Star Trek sequel due out in 2013. Our new 'Uhura' has taken over Nichelle Nichol's job aboard the USS Enterprise NCC 1701 sniff. Shes now the head honcho in communications stealing our hearts and minds with her talented linguistic tongue. I already miss those "Hailing frequencies open, Captain" but hey at least we can warp back in time!

The name 'Nyota Uhura' once translated means 'Star of Freedom' in Swahili. One of Star Trek's greatest mysteries is why Uhuras christian name was never even uttered in the classic series or movies until recently in Star Trek 2009. You'll remember Nyota comforts Spock on the turbo lift and later we see the two of them canoodling in the transporter room. Kirks hounding of Mr Spock pays off big time when they're all on the transporter. The sly little vulcan finally says her name 'NYOTA' for the first time in the new trek verse ending decades of debate worldwide and random speculation in books.

The question is how do you feel about more Spock and Uhura canoodling in the new Star Trek movie 2013?

Perhaps Vulcan self restraint and the Pon Farr mating rictuals aren't so plain and hopeless after all? Logic dictates that under the circumstances the only logical action would have to be one of desperation. Logical decision, Logically arrived at.

Jack the Ripper

Image Owner/Creator: Paramount/CBS Studios

J is for Jack the Ripper. Who or what is Jack the Ripper? Our pointy eared friend, Mr Spock from Star Trek the Original Series has an interesting theory. The vulcan suggests that Jack the Ripper is essentially a "Ripper entity" and may not possess physical form.

Instead the entity feeds off fearful humanoids terrorizing the wits out of its victims before taking possession of their minds and bodies! On the planet Argelius II, a black cloud looms over the Chief Engineer of the USS Enterprise NCC 1701, when Scotty is found gripping a knife taken from Kara played by Tania Lemani.

This poor lass danced the night away and this is her reward! She's completed the finest belly dance ever and goes out for a walk in the fog with Scotty. What is her reward ? A dagger taken from her back! Dr Hengist is the Administrator and a native to Rigel IV. He takes a keen interest in the murders as the noose around Scotty's neck begins to tighten

Captain Kirk investigates the name "Redjac" which is a nickname for "the Ripper", so too were "Kelsa and Beratis" on worlds the ripper entity visited. The enigma deepens when a female Argelian empath is brought in and detects an evil presence, driven by a deep hatred of women. The young women Sybo, crys out in agony before she too, is found murdered by the USS Enterprise's Chief Engineer.

The question is, did Scotty do it?  What makes Star Trek's TOS "Wolf In the Fold" frantically funny is Scotty can't remember anything which makes him look pretty guilty. I mean the guy is covered in the girls blood. Yup, right up to his eyeballs, so its worse than bad. Scotty's goose was in a spot but he wasn't finished.

The USS Enterprise NCC 1701 springs a lie-detector test which throws Mr Hengist into a spin. Scottys innocence is finally confirmed which gets the engineer off the hook. However, something doesn't quite add up so Kirk and Mr Spock leave no stone unturned. Why was Mr Scott found at the scene of the murders?. The murder weapon is discovered and analysis yields startling results. The knife originated from Rigel IV, Mr Hengist's home planet! When confronted, the "Redjac Entity" controlling Mr Hengist goes beserk.

Mr Hengist has some explaining to do except on further scrutiny the "Redjac or Ripper" entity inhabiting Mr Hengist desserts his body and enters the Enterprise computer. Kirk and Spock devise a plan to get rid of "Redjac" once and for all. Scotty is relieved to discover he wasn't to blame for the serial murders. The Ripper entity made engineer Scott stab beautiful young Kara, Lieutenant Tracy and Prefect Jaris's pretty wife Sybo. It always fun to watch Chief Engineer Scotty get an active role during an away mission, but could you live with all that bloodshed on your hands?

Orion Slave Woman

Here is a shapely, seductive green skinned Orion Woman wearing a skimpy seductive costume. She's also wearing a golden sapphire necklace and bracelets, worn for the purpose of enhancing her appeal to a prospective suitor.

Orion Women were said to have the power and seductive charms to delight any male under their influence.

Image owner/creator: Paramount Pictures or CBS Paramount Television.

In 23rd century humanoid females of this kind were a precious commodity and were marketed in disreputable parts of the galaxy. This trading suggests ownership and as a result of this some Orions were not treated with the respect they deserved.

In the episode "The Cage" (Star Trek) Vina appeared to Captain Christopher Pike as an illusionary youthful Orion Slave Woman in order to break his resolve.

Actress Majel Barret was painted green for the initial makeup trials of the Orion woman.

After the shoot took place and the film came back from the photolab there was no green skin. So, it was concluded, we'll just put on a darker green. The film came back and there still was no green skin. The make-up artists made her an even darker shade of green. When it came back, no green skin.

Image owner/creator: Paramount Pictures or CBS Paramount Television.

Finally someone had the bright idea to ring up the photolab and say "You do know we want her Green and yet the film keeps coming back with pink skin!" It turned out the lab technicians were completely unaware of this and had been changing the skin from green to pink the whole time!
