WHY V'GER CHOSE ILIA - STAR TREK TMP

Jerry Goldsmith wrote the music soundtrack for Star Trek the Motion Picture which later became the fanfare for Star Trek TNG. 1995 was the year I bought all 178 episodes of Star Trek TNG. Each season was 106 euro which wasn't cheap for me. Today you can buy a used Star Trek TNG Season 1 for £6.49 can you believe that?

DECKER TRYING TO REVIVE ILIAS "data memory patterns"
by placing the headband on her head but why? - When Decker begins to fall for the exact replica of "Ilia" standing before him Dr McCoy speaks up.
THIS IS JUST A MECHANISM!

I got my "I AM Spock" signed biography from leonard Nimoy that year - yeah I thought things were looking good. I was only 25 ready to explore galaxies. I remember watching Star Treks first movie with friends who loved the special effects, "star trek is cool" overall TMP is a good flick - you'll appreciate the plot is drawn from the slow moving coldness of Space Odyssey and Star Trek Changeling "Nomad" whose primary mission was to scientifically investigate new life forms.

UHURA
"I LIKE TO SING, I FELT LIKE MUSIC"
NOMAD INVESTIGATING

Conversely V'ger programming is also at the heart of TMP plot. Its awesome watching lovely android Ilia makes her grand entrance to save the universe with Decker licking his wounds as the failed rightful Captain of the starship USS Enterprise NCC 1701. Meanwhile Spocks spacewalk mindmeld reveals.....

SPOCKS SECRET SPACEWALK

" Jim, Vgers programming is incomplete. Vger is cold, barren. This simple feeling - not possible.""Vger's asking questions, is this all that I am, is there nothing more?" - Spock

The poor machine was longing for human company all along.......

WHO do you think WON the JACKPOT in Star Trek The Motion Picture?

1. Decker gets Ilia

2. Captain Kirk gets the Enterprise

3. V'ger gets Emotions

STAR TREK THE NEXT GENERATION (2-7) BLOOPERS - 2021

Hi Trekkers. To usher in 2021 heres some fun Star Trek The Next Generation blooper reels which should crack you up. These classic TNG recordings are spliced together"out-takes" showing how actors keep it together when they forget their lines, mostly by goofing off. The shows creator Gene Roddenberry even gets in on the act and If you thought Klingons didn't laugh, well guess again.

Patrick Stewart goofs off on camera and utters the order “engage” instead of“energize,” "which is what we say in this room" Picard explains.... causing Frakes, Marina Sirtis and Colm Meaney to laugh.

The crew had long shifts and for Dorn 3.5 hours to create and transform with the Klingon ridge forehead, thankfully for Brent Spiner it took only 75 minutes to put on his metallic android paint he said.

PICARD IS BACK

Serial number: SP 937-215
USS Stargazer (NCC-2893), (2333–2355)
 USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D, (2364–2371)
USS Enterprise NCC 1701-E, (2372–)

Here is a list of Starfleets spaceships captained by JEAN LUC PICARD. Impressive isn't it? To boldly engage worthy opponents of the Federation's like Preator Shinzon, Ardra, Q the Omnipotent, Nausicaans and the Borg Queen took strength of will and determination which we've all experienced in Star Trek TNG....well now the most noted captain in space exploration and interstellar diplomacy...... I'm lost for words my friends,  Picard's back...

CAPTAIN JEAN LUC PICARD
STAR TREK FIRST CONTACT

Word is we're definitely witnessing the return of our Star Trek hero, friend, diplomat and protector to guide us once again through the stars after 18 years of wilderness... Star Trek nemesis, well lets be honest was pure bewilderment and Data's death? lets not even go there!!! what a disaster. Fans say Picard is great for talking his way out of trouble but do you consider him an action-man? Remember Star Trek First Contact? Despite all his diplomacy, tough talk, and we come in peace, Picard proved he had what it takes to blaze off rifle rounds and make Borg pay....

Amazon beat Netflix to stream CBS' new Picard series in more than 200 countries and territories. The show is currently filming to stream later this year which began in April in Los Angeles, so how will Patrick Stewart reprise his role? Little is known except for speculation. Is Patrick Stewart returning as an academy instructor? admiral, captain or civilian? Its no secret Patrick Stewart has the Midas touch so for some amazing reason, Stewarts got the gift to make it so with us - the fans.

Starfleet has the USS Enterprise NCC 1701-E so whats next? Who gets the captains chair? Johnathan Frakes gets the directors chair with SirPatStew as executive producer. Recent Star Trek Picard leaked photos give us Picard in civilian clothes with an Ensign asking his name.

What do you think? Speak now to be heard and become immortalized for all trek time, lol.

CAPTAIN JEAN LUC PICARD
FIRST CONTACT

Even the name sounds cool, Star Trek Picard - so much is right about it. The USS Enterprise represents true hope, vast technology, and service to humankind. According to Alex Kurtzman, we should not expect a reboot of Star Trek TNG but rather expect a more psychological show about a man in his twilight years, the hero we need right now.

What are you hoping for when you switch on Star Trek Picard?

Live Long and my Trekker Friends, Picard is back!

Worf and Jadzia

Terry Farrell is big at Star Trek conventions. Here she is giving a Q&A for the fans at Supercon 2018. She first appeared as Jadzia Dax in a DS9 episode "Dax" accused of murder. Fans know by now "Jadzia" character is two different species. So heres the thing, see....

MICHAEL DORN AND TERRY FARRELL

Theres this large worm lurking within beautiful Jadzia the host. So what is it? Well trekkers, to be blunt Jadzia's 300 year old beastie has a name.....Its called Dax, lol. So lets see now... The Dax symbiont brain entity had previous deep ties with Klingon culture, so when Klingon Worf came along (remember him?) a Klingon wedding on Deep Space 9 kinda happened. Jadzia and Worf were married.

So who got the better deal? You decide! but we're talking about Jadzia the spacebabe with several doctorates and degrees in exobiology, zoology, astrophysics, and Xenoarchaeology - duh what?) You don't have to understand the how it all happened exactly...... just let Jadzia - do all the talking and Worf can consider himself one lucky Klingon.

He must have been trilled, Jadzia was, wouldn't you agree?  tell me what you think.

Star Trek TNG 30th Anniversary in Las Vegas

Hello Everyone, I'm a sucker for these Star Trek conventions. Heres one from August with The Next Generation Cast. You know the score. It TNG's 30 Year special anniversary in 2017. What makes this Las Vegas panel so awesome has got to be the laughs.

Brent Spiner forgets he's the Godfather of Gates McFadden child!!! Good Grief, LOL I mean shes sitting right beside him when Spiner opens his mouth the wrong way. Let's just say (Dr. Beverly Crusher) was not impressed with Data. Now, that's what I call a major goof but funny. Check out Patrick Stewart for his reaction but despite the X-factor, we're all friends here.

So sit back and geek out and enjoy Star Trek. Levar Burton, Marina Sirtis, Michael Dorn, Denise Crosby and John DeLancie are present. Johnathan Frakes couldn't make it.

Live Long and Prosper.

WILL STAR TREK REBOOT DEEP SPACE 9?

Today we have a Star Trek fan taking the reigns at Star Trek Sci Fi Blog! Welcome aboard Adam Joseph from the USS Sports Machine. Adam writes articles and publishes sports stories and now Adams words in science fiction will be energizing our thoughts. Take it away trekker :)

Star Trek is a cult classic that has turned from what once was a small show into a lifestyle for many sci-fi fans. In the 80s and 90s, Star Trek was once again broadcast into the homes of millions with the installment of episodes titled The Next Generation. The series boldly explored "where no-one has gone before" aboard the newly commissioned USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D. Only years after the massive success of Star Trek Next Generation, producers decided to create another series, Deep Space Nine. This series was set upon a space station so as to not conflict with The Next Generation's 176 starship adventures.

Deep Space Nine was vastly underrated by many in the 90s but became much more popular as the years went on. Critics now praise the show for in-depth character building and brilliant stories.  This has created a deep fanbase that has continued on until our modern day. With many new novels coming out every year, there is a very strong group of individuals in the Star Trek community who are looking to learn more about this space station. This makes a reboot seem very feasible and likely for Deep Space 9.

Will Deep Space 9 get a reboot or possibly hit the big screen someday?

Marina Sirtis and Brent Spiners Gag Reel?

Marina Sirtis at Brent Spiner's Paramount Trailer

In an interview taken at the Paramount Studios lot in the early 90's, Brent Spiner (whos really Data the android in Star Trek (TNG) gets rousted by co star Marina Sirtis. Rather innocently "Counsellor Deanna Troi" grabs the scoop nailing Spiner "in the act." Despite the old footage, its fun watching these two fooling around. Troi's betazoid instincts cuts straight to the chase. She tells us, "Brent Spiner, Data the android, possibly the most popular character on the show"[STAR TREK TNG] which I thought was very classy of her.

"Our little Scoop!" - After banging on his trailer door for a while, Sirtis gives Spiner plenty of time. The fun begins when Brent emerges from his trailer stammering "what what????"..... While the rapport between Sirtis and Spiner is genuine. These guys definitely won me over and I'm still wondering, is this interview a "gag" or the real deal?  What do you think?

Marina explains: "I'm here with Movietime, remember?" "Oh yeah, right, right, right, right" stammers a hungover Spiner trying to pull himself together. After a little broadway melodrama Spiner finally agrees to hold up his end of the bargain. So what I wonder happens next?

Do you think Brent Spiner slept in his trailer during the filming of Star Trek TNG's entire "smash hit" tv show? Whatever Marina's reasons were for filming this epic, I think their performance deserves an oscar for its comedic value.

What say you? Gag Reel or Real deal?

Klingons Do Not Laugh

K is for Klingons do not laugh.  Do Klingons and humor mix? A lot has been said about Star Trek TNG being a little off key in its first season. In this second episode of "Star Trek: The Next Generation of "The Naked Now,"

I think you'll agree Commander Data, Captain Picard and Klingon Worf's dry wit is a real winner! You decide.....skip ahead to 0.56sec....

Lt. Cmdr. Data: There was a rather peculiar limerick, being delivered by someone in the shuttlecraft bay. I am not sure I understand it... "There was a young lady from Venus, whose body was shaped like a... "
Capt. Picard: Captain to Security, come in!
Lt. Cmdr. Data: Did I say something wrong?
Lieutenant Worf: I don't understand their humor either.

Do Klingons laugh?

Robert Justman's "Klingon on the Bridge"

J is for Justman. On the 18 October 1986, Robert Justman sent a memo to Star Trek's Creator, Gene Roddenberry. The memo concerned the use of the show's writers guide/bible in the Star Trek universe. Justman's memo begins with the sentence,

"Despite your aversion to using Klingons in the new series, I think I've thought of something which might just change your mind."

In case you were wondering, Robert Justman put forward the idea of a resident Klingon serving aboard the Enterprise played by Michael Dorn. Obviously, Justman had a few hurdles to bypass. Some say Roddenberry's optimistic view of the future was preachy and slow. To neutralize this problem, Justman suggested that the military skills and prowess of the Klingon species might cause such a person (like Worf) to be well-suited for a role in the ship's crew.

"These are Klingons! They'll attack!"

When Roddenberry dug his heels in about excluding the Klingons, he said, "Bob, we've passed all that. We don't need Klingons." However, Justman persevered, challenging the Creator's opinion, pointing out that the acceptance of a Klingon in Starfleet would mean that Human attitudes had grown, which happily played ball with Roddenberry's optimistic view of the future.

Do you remember K'Ehleyr? Didn't Susie Plakson make a great Klingon?

Qapla! Long live the Klingon Empire.

Worfs Secret Fear

In Star Trek's TNG episode, "Coming of Age" Wesley and Worf discuss facing their fears while on the USS Enterprise-D holodeck. But its not actually divulged what Worf's "secret fear" is. So lets make an educated guess.....

Tribbles!!!

Could this be true? Do Tribbles really have what it takes to spook Warrior Worf?

Don't mess with WORF!

Why is Worf rejected so much? In the STNG episode, "Coming of Age", while on the holodeck, Wesley and Worf discuss facing their fears. It was not revealed what Worf's "secret fear" was.

We know Klingons living to an old age is every warriors worst nightmare, as is being denied the right to die gloriously in battle. Actor Michael Dorn aka Worf has seen the youtube clip,

'Worf gets DENIED again and again on Star TNG' and was amused by it.

Heres what Michael had to say at a Comic and Toy Expo.

Robotic Datas' Epic Win

Heres our Robotic Enterprise-D Science Officer, Commander Data awaiting word on missing DNA fragments essential to locating a super humanoid master species. Anyway what makes this youtube funny is the fact Data's positronic brain is encased in battleship armour!

He has the strength of 10 men, doesn't get tired, rust or ever sleep! In an epic encounter with the Klingon Nu’Daq, our metal friend Data is challenged to an armwrestle, Klingon style. When Nu’Daq loses he tries a new move. Lets just say the Klingon isn't counting on Data's very hard head.

Data: "My upper spinal support is a polyalloy designed for extreme stress. My skull is composed of cortenide and duranium."

When you listen closely you can hear chuckles in the Enterprises Ten Forward bar. Should Guinan aka Whoopi Goldberg have intervened? Did you know about Data's molybdenum-cobalt, tripolymer or polyalloys? What would you have done in the same situation?

Guinan and Picard?

G is for Guinan but who is she? In Star Trek's TNG Whoopi Goldberg plays Guinan who runs the USS Enterprise-D's ten forward lounge. Amazingly she belongs to a mysterious race of El Aurians that doesn't seem to age, Guinan is over 500 years old. Captain Picard and Guinan share a very strong bond, they have a trust and an unspoken understanding that surpasses normal friendship and hints in some TNG episodes at possible intimacy.

She is the only character apart from the omnipotent Q who can challenge Picard's orders and get him to change his mind. Data believes her perception goes beyond linear time, which explains why she knew the timeline was altered in 'Yesterdays Enterprise'A self confessed Star Trek fan and Golden Globe winner to boot, the actress told Gene Roddenberry she wanted a part to play on the show. Whoopi Goldberg has been a Star Trek fan since childhood (her hero was Nichelle Niichols) so her character took off when producers found out she wanted to be part of the series.

What do you think, did Captain Picard and Guinan have a secret love affair?

Worf says: Women Roar, Men Duck.

Sorry guys for missing the 'I Miss You Blogfest.' I was warping across the galaxy when my Shuttlecraft reactor engines blew out, 90 light years away cut off from Ninja Command!!!

Heres a little Sci Fi clip with Data and Worf to to make you laugh.

By sheer cosmic chance I was rescued by fun loving Risian spacebabes, who took me in and freely shared their planet with me. It soon emerged that natives were actively pursuing Jamaharon and I was their prey!

So in over my head, I had to tell them about my passion for Star Trek. To be sure Risas' a Nice Planet! The sophisticated weather patterns are so relaxing. During my pleasure experience, I was duly presented with a Horga'hn. Now you do know what a Horga'hn is? Believe me, I was thinking about Earths' happy sphere of bloggers the whole time.

Netflix Star Trek Streaming

Excited about the wonderful universe of Star Trek episodes streaming into your life? Took the plunge and signed up for Netflix? Its been a couple of months now since a deal was struck between CBS and Netflix making Netflix the first online service to deliver Star Trek without commercials.

I wonder whatever happened to the needs of the many and all that jazz? Oh well. Hopeful, European trekkers probably wouldn't have minded some 'advertisements.' The current CBS/Netflix deal is exclusive to the USA only which means lots of saddened trekkies are missing out on the fun.

The good news is Netflix have CBS trek licencing for only two years with options for another 2 so who knows? Fans can watch Star Trek episodes on line with their Netflix ready TV, XBox360, 3d, PS3, Wii,  mobile phones or tablets which is neat.

Netflix have confirmed they will be streaming every episode of every season for all five live-action Star Trek series: the original Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: Enterprise. Curiously the only show not included in the CBS deal is the 70's Star Trek The Animated Series. I guess some things weren't meant to be for now...

UPDATE:  Netflix just got the green light to air ST TAS! GAME ON Trekinators!

Star Trek TNG will be the first to hit Netflix with direct digital streaming taking the web by storm leaving ITunes in the dust. Its awesome seeing Star Trek TNG as a popular trek series yet again!!! 25 years after its original debut aired in 1987!!! LOL.

                                                        MAKE IT SO!

Which Star Trek show do you want to see in direct digital streaming? signed for Netflix? Do European trekkies or Canadian trekinators have just cause for concern?

Star Trek's TNG 25th Anniversary

Its great seeing our Enterprise Picard troops together again, flying the flag high one more time for ol' times sake. 2012 brought our legendary TNG super heroes back laughing and poking fun at each other as they recounted 7 years of galloping around the galaxy with even the dancing doctor getting in on the act. You'll love the 'Get Riker Free story', lol.

To celebrate Star Trek's TNG 25th Anniversary,TNG hit cinemas with Star Trek THE NEXT GENERATION, debuting in Blu Ray. It was like warp speed ahead Mr Crusher, I want all the power you can muster mister. But Captain if I push the engines any harder she'll blow up! Hehe! I love these lines even though none of them were really spoken on TNG.

The good news is 'The New' BLU RAY version of TNG (season 1 and 2) is ready and extended with new visual effects. You'll discover little details you never saw before and it gets better. The shows episodes appear more vibrant and real as trek was really meant to be. Season 1 has Exclusive Special Features including never before seen archival footage, Brand New Interviews with key players, Gag Reel and more.

Each of the 178 episodes spanning The Next Generation's seven seasons will eventually be reworked. Don't worry if you missed TNG's big blu ray day. You can always stump up the cash for Star Trek's BLU RAY boxsets now they're fully re-edited in TNG DVD format, LOL. Enjoy!

Xylo Eggs

In Star Trek's TNG episode '11001001' Commander Data paints Xylo Eggs. What do you think of them? Is Data exhibiting signs of pure creativity? Its hard to tell what Commander Riker makes of the android's painting but I think Captain Picard would have approved. The french like paintings flushed with vibrant bright colors. Painting is another way to keep a diary. Its hard to figure why Commander Riker departs so suddenly, starship duties I guess!

RIKER:
Keep notes this project could be of importance to scholars in the future.

GEORDI:
Really!

RIKER:
Well of course, think about it. A blind man teaching an android how to paint. Thats got to be worth a couple of pages in somebodies book!

Jellico

J is for Jellic remember him? He completes a short stint in Star Trek TNG. In 2369 Captain Jellico is assigned to command the USS Enterprise NCC 1701 while Picard, Beverly and Worf get reassigned to a special black ops mission on Cestris III.

Commander Riker tries to communicate the crews concerns abouts Jellicos latest crew restructuring but its no dice. Jellico never raises his voice, but his tone becomes far colder and harder.

You will tell the department heads that as of now, the Enterprise is on a four shift rotation.

I don't want to talk about it. Get it done!
