EVERYONE MATTERS - STAR TREKS SCIENTIFIC FUTURE GIVES US HOPE

Hi Trekkers! In an age of tongue twisting technobabble getting your trekkie on at a Star Trek convention was such an enjoyable experience. Enthusiastic fans looking towards the stars, concerned about our little world have Star Treks scientific future to cling onto for hope. Even though some say Star Wars resurrected the franchise I say, hold on!!! Everyone matters.

Yes, eager Star Trek fans with Paramount concerns trekking across earth want to be counted too. Don't forget us! Curious sciencefictionist  explorers we are boldly going seeking out new friends on new "civilizations" who love the fundamentalism of Star Trek.

Lots of us will remember the 90's and well into 2000's when Star Trek engaged the hearts and minds of every living trekker on earth. Mr Spocks respect for science and Uhuras honeyed voice opening up sub-space frequencies -  Last year more than 200,000 tickets sold for New Yorks Comic Con with San Diego seeing 135,000 attendees at its in person convention for the year.

For a while it was beginning to feel like Star Trek ruled the globe. Along came CBS, Netflix streaming, Amazon Prime and Crave TV. Its a widely enjoyed phenomena that Star Trek celebrities united the fans who immediately go to conventions packed with lovable mysterious monsters etc and geek out.

We enjoyed the fun chats, Q and Answers with the stars, high fives, photo shots, autograph signings and news updates.

Today as the covid19 pandemic sweeps across the earth dozens of Star Trek celebs have lined up for Virtual Trek Con.... Trekker to Sci-fi fan its not quite the same is it?

Nevertheless, the message is clear, stay safe.

The last Virtual fan convention Variety reported ran from 22-26 was no more exciting than enjoying a nice cup of tea. To answer this question logically, Twitter tweets for Comic-Con@Home have nosedived to 93,681.

Virtual Star Trek convention have slashed fan numbers by 95% so far (for 2020 ) Where did the live convention fans go? Apparently no-ones tweeting much on Twitter anymore (about pure Star Trek excitement because well...... lets just say the buzz has died) compared to 5 days in 2019. The figures speak for themselves 1,719,000 vs 93,681

So Trekkers, with Star Trek Streaming and Virtual Fan Conventions on the menu this year.... at least we're not having gravy with our ham salad while watching Star Wars on TV.

1. CBS All Access
2. NETFLIX
3. AMAZON PRIME INSTANT VIDEO
4. HULU
5. Crackle
6. YOUTUBE
7. Drama Fever
8. CRUNCHYROLL
9. TWITCH TV (JUSTIN TV)
10. ITUNES/ GOOGLE PLAY STORE

Star Trek or Star Wars? go on now don't be shy.....

Which Star Trek show rocks your boat, CLASSIC, TNG, PICARD OR DISCOVERY?

So what impact are virtual fan cons  having on peoples lives vs the noisy Star Trek conventions of the past year?

Live Long and Prosper, my Friends.

Anton Yelchin - Happy Birthday

Hello world and Friends, trekkers and trekkies. Its been two years since Anton Yelchin died on Sunday 19t June 2016. You'll remember he played Pavel Chekov, the USS Enterprise's navigator.

"I can do zat" he yells while rushing down to the USS Enterprise's transporter to perform his miracle beam up trick (STID.) What a fun moment, I laughed because I have to admit, he was such a champion with that Russian voice and a hard act to follow.

Heres a happy snapshot of friends Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Karl Urban and Anton Yelchin with Zachary Quinto looking on I believe. I can't see Chris Pine. Anyway, here they are captured in a happy moment with Anton as Star Trek's cast hanging out together.

Zoe Saldana sums this moment up best.

Happy birthday Anton- in our hearts forever.

Brian Fullers and Alex Kurtzmans Star Trek Discovery series based on Gene Roddenberry's success is now hitting TV screens across the world. CBS President Marc DeBevoise announced in New York on October 3rd that Star Trek Discovery is boldly making new record highs for the Television Network's streaming service.

“The build up to the show’s premiere led us to a record-setting month, week and ultimately day of sign-ups. The second week of the series has also exceeded our expectations and is a credit to the brilliant and dedicated work of the show’s entire creative team and cast. We can’t wait for fans to see what comes next for the U.S.S. Discovery and its crew.”

Nichelle Nichols and Sonequa Martin Green

Simply magnificent. Heres Nichelle Nichols looking radiant (USS Enterprise, Uhura) as the first lady of Star Trek smiling with Sonequa Martin Green (USS Discovery, Michael Burnham) 51 years later after the classic Star Trek show aired on NBC. How does she keep doing it?

Nichelle spoke with Martin Luther King and "Sucker" for Star Trek, Barack Obama at the White house during his presidency on the 29th Feb 2012.

She tweeted this image for Fans to enjoy from all walks of life. The reason Star Trek has endured is because of the stories and characters, long may it continue.

@NichelleIsUhura told me 'It's yours now. Enjoy the ride.' @SonequaMG at the #StarTrekDiscovery world premiere.

Barrack Obama and Nichelle Nichols
Its a thrill watching characters like Captain Philippa Georgiou, Captain Lorcan, Michael Burnham, and Uhura or any ethnic bunch of creative people in Science Fiction boldly going forward with grit and determination to solve problems and succeed.

The result? Now we have a new Star Trek TV show streaming worldwide. But you can't please everyone. Below you'll find Several Star Trek trailers to play inside the USA and others will play outside the USA. The rest are International trailers for you to enjoy. So you won't be disappointed. Apparently, lots of viewers are signing up for the CBS streaming channel! Star Trek lives!

What do you believe are William Shatner's 1 in 10 chances at resurrecting Prime universe Captain James T. Kirk in Discovery's timeline?   10 = Yes,  or   1= No chance

What say you? yeah you!
You're a trekker aren't ya or are you a trekkie? These aren't dirty words, speak up, you're normal right? so be heard! President Obama considered himself a trekker, so don't worry its cool to be a trekker just like normal people.

STAR TREK 50TH: DESTINATION EVENT UK

William Shatner, George Takei, Walter Koenig, Terry Farrell, Marina Sirtis, Gates McFadden, Robert Duncan McNeill, Armin Shimerman, Christopher Lloyd, Martha Hackett and Alice Krige (the Borg Queen in Star Trek: First Contact) but no Nichelle Nichols beam over to the UK to meet the fans for Star Trek's 50th Anniversary.

Many fans eager to meet the stars tweeted while they waited. Trekkers with Admiral VIP Tickets swept by tons of people waiting in queues which took two hours to get past the check points. The only catch is VIP treatment cost £2,999! Standard Tickets were far cheaper.

Adam Nimoy, Leonard Nimoys son is seated in command of the Galaxy Class USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D seen here. Space babes Marina Sirtis and Terry Farrell were also among the stars this weekend at Birmingham's Destination Star Trek  Convention.

Over the weekend thousands of Star Trek fans queued for hours to get in on the action with their Star Trek TV/Movie heroes. Marie Gordon flashes her Lieutenant stripes on her red bridge officers duty uniform to curry favor but no can do! It just goes to show. Even Star Trek Lieutenants have to wait. haha!!!

On Sunday William took part in answering questions for the fans. Heres a fun video he made specially for fans.

Walter Koenig appeared with George Takei live onstage at Star Trek's Birmingham Convention. These two Chekov and Sulu navigate and pilot the Starship USS Enterprise 1701

This photograph says it all. Its the launch for Star Trek's UK Destination event and the expression on the stars faces is fascinating...... William Shatner has done it again. The look on Walter Koenig's face is priceless.

DRESSING TO IMPRESS

These sci-fi ladies are making the most out of Star Trek's 50th Destination Event. They probably handed their tricorder, phasers and communicators over to an Ensign during the photoshoot. So whats not to like?

Its life....... but not as we know it!   Jim!

R2 says Hello from Outerspace

Earth's International Space Station has awoken their first humanoid Robonaut from his deep space sleep. Isn't that cool? But who or what is R2? I guess Robonaut 2 could be a distant relative of Star Trek's Mr Data who's definitely more than just a machine. While neither of these droids eat, sleep, drink or feel pain, their human-like features and capabilities are a source of great inspiration to us mere mortals.

R2's full name is Robonaut 2 Unit B to be precise but like Data he's got tons of personality despite having no emotions! Strange but true. NASA's white tinman doesn't even talk but since February, R2's already got an enthusiastic 47,000 followers just by tweeting on Twitter! "Those electrons feel GOOD! One small step for man, one giant leap for tinman kind," was Robonauts first tweet.

Our technological friend will prove really useful when his space legs get him walking. Robonaut 2 was born on May 7th 2010 in his hometown Houston, Texas. Nasa plans to get Tinman souped up for spacewalks assisting his human colleagues during tedious and dangerous missions. Some of R2's extraordinary abilities include tweeting, multi-tasking with the ISS computer consoles, conducting mental and physical tasks using human dexterity to adjust things, performing precise repairs on satellites with the technological toughness to survive the vacuum of space.

Will R2 exceed the sum of his programming?

Realistic Reading

Really short messages are just as good as really long messages in fact they're better. Twitters success is based on getting your point across quickly "called tweets" using only 140 characters or less. I've broken a cardinal rule by mentioning Twitter but who really cares? Twitter is good for reporting realistic, rapid, relaxing, randomized, respectful, rumors to its ready, resolute and resourceful readership.
