Idris Elba - Groundbreaking Villain

Star Trek Beyond - The thirteenth movie directed by Justin Lin is currently filming in futureland - the city of tomorrow, Dubai. Wide speculation is running rife about Star Trek's new bad guy, Idris Elba. Since the news broke about "Beyonds" antagonist, The BIG QUESTION remains UNANSWERED.

BRIDGE OF USS ENTERPRISE NCC 1701

Who's the most likely villain to take out Captain Kirk's (Chris Pine) USS Enterprise NCC 1701?

Whats his name? Idris Elba knows only hes not telling!!! Earlier in the year, I reported Sofia Boutella is contending with Star Trek's fearsome villains - 007 style -  as the perfect sexy killer machine with secret moves to blow us away - hehe.

SOFIA BOUTELLA - TREKS KILLER MACHINE

So who is Star Trek's Mr Evil? and whats the beef this time round?

Heres what Simon Pegg and Idris Elba have told us so far - thanks to MTV.

SIMON PEGG: That’s not true…I heard there’s a rumor he’s [Idris Elba] been spoken to about stuff, so he may be in the film, but he won’t be a Klingon or maybe he will.

MR EVIL AND CAPTAIN KIRK

"You’ve never seen me play a character like this."

"It’s quite an interesting journey, which I think is groundbreaking for the franchise. But, it still keeps with the ’classic bad guy is a classic bad guy’ tone."

“Simon [Pegg] and the team have written a very interesting, complex journey for my character,”

"I think Star Trek has prided themselves as being quite classic when it comes to villains, like ‘he’s a guy who wants to end the world."

It seems details for Idris Elba’s mysterious role are being kept hidden somewhere on Ceti Alpha V.

Is Idris Elba cool enough to tell us who MR EVIL really is? You decide. Unless Elba spills the beans, I'm calling him Mr Evil.

Its over to you trekkers, trekkies and bloggies. Whats your best guess?

Who is Star Trek Beyond's Lead Villain?

Star Trek Beyond directed by Justin Lin (8th July 2016 release) is shrouded in mystery. Story is key to a good movie, so why do action packed space adventures expanding into the cosmos score big at the box office? Remember Guardians of the Galaxy? It made a cool $774,176,600 worldwide.

Idris Elba

Star Treks thirteenth movie is currently filming in Vancouver, BC, Canada with all the regular cast. So far the movies wild cards include Idris Elba, Sofia Boutella and Martial Artist Actor, Joe Taslim. Unlike the Dark Knight, Doctor Strange and Thor - heroes in Star Trek can hardly cape up to save the galaxy. What about the villains? Is Idris Elba getting his Klingon on for the movie?

SIMON PEGG: That’s not true…I heard there’s a rumor he’s [Idris Elba] been spoken to about stuff, so he may be in the film, but he won’t be a Klingon or maybe he will.

Sofia Boutella

PEGG: “It’s a really interesting, complex character,”

Shoot, so much for Klingons being in the big picture. Apparently the crew of the USS Enterprise NCC 1701 are going to new parts of the galaxy and meeting new species, so it's unlikely to be a Klingon-verse movie.

JUSTIN LIN: It’s all new and fresh. The Klingons, Romulans and other species are great, but it’s time to go further. It has been fun to focus on creating whole new worlds and species.

Joe Taslim.
It seems Sofia Boutella has been chosen to battle Star Trek's fearsome villains. No biggie really, you should see Gazelles gymnastic moves in Kingsman: The Secret Service. She's the perfect killer machine for engaging rebel forces in Star Trek beyond.

I love the idea Boutella's character having secret abilities to reverse Star Trek's altered timeline. Will planet Vulcan or Romulus make a come back? Whos playing the lead villain, I wonder? Any ideas? Heres a list to confuse us even more....

Its over to you trekkers, trekkies and bloggies. Whats your best guess?

Locutus of Borg

L is for Locutus of Borg but who is he? In Star Trek TNG's Best of Both Worlds, Picard's Enterprise-D crew get their butts kicked in a battle with the big scary Borg. Victorious, trek's cybernetic baddies beam off the Federation's Galaxy class fortress with their prized possession, Captain Picard. How could this be happenning, I hear you ask. Well to be honest, TNG's Best of Both Worlds left many of us gobsmacked on stardate 44001.4 It was spine chillingly thrilling watching Picard become Locutus of Borg. However, many of us still couldn't accept Starfleet's finest diplomat was now the enemy, a walking and talking Borg.

'I am Locutus of Borg. Resistance is futile. Your life as it has been is over. From now on, you will service us.'

How did you react when Commander Riker gave the order?

 'Mr Worf.....fire.'

Heroic Captain Kirks Crew Are Hiding!

Heroic Captain Kirk has proven himself on numerous occasions with his ingenious battle strategies. Keeping the power and secrets of the Genesis Torpedo away from Commander Kruges grasp is top priority. He's the perfect mean spirited, vengeful Klingon on a power tripping quest... All our greedy friend has to do now is seize the Enterprise and steal her "secrets." When Kruge sizes up the situation, Captain Kirk cunningly outwits his mortal enemy by setting the USS Enterprise 1701 on self destruct!!! Kruges undefeated reputation is in tatters with his moment of glory backfiring sending him into an unhinged spasm of madness. He has to defeat his elusive opponent. Captain Kirk.

Trouble is, where are Captain Kirks heroic crew?

(Forward to 3.18)
TORG: My lord(Kruge) the ship appears to be deserted. [Enterprise bridge]

KRUGE: How can that be? They're hiding! [Bird-of-Prey bridge]

TORG: Yes sir. But the bridge appears to be run by computer. It is the only thing speaking.[Enterprise bridge]

KRUGE: Speaking? Let me hear. [Bird-of-Prey bridge]

ENTERPRISE COMPUTER VOICE: Nine, ...eight, ...seven, ...six, ...five,... [Enterprise bridge]

KRUGE: Get out! Get out of there! Get out! COMPUTER VOICE: ...one... [Bird-of-Prey bridge]

Gul Dukat

D is for Dukat but who is he? In 2351, Gul Dukat played by Marc Alaimo rose to the position as Prefect of Bajor under Cardassian rule on Star Trek DS9. This guy ruled the Bajorian people with an iron fist while believing he was actually helping them.

Terok Nor later renamed Deep Space Nine was Dukat's base of operations where he chose to subjugate the Bajorian people at all costs. Offenders engaged in criminal activity were always declared guilty and sentenced to death in advance of a public show trial. To no end, Dukat personally instigated a counter uprising program to quell rebellious behaviour by instilling fear in his subjects. In an bizare twist though, he appoints the changeling Odo to investigate the murder of the stations chemist with surprising results.

In his quest for ultimate power Dukat has been many things, soldier, freedom fighter, despot, Prefect of Bajor, outcast, pawn, father and even ruler of the Cardassian homeworld but lost that status when he suffered a mental breakdown. One thing remains constant, Dukat is a supreme warlord fighting battles with Federations, Klingons and Bajorians to name a few. I have to admit DS9 is the darkest Star Trek show which ran for seven glorious seasons. When DS9's Jadzia Dax played by the wonderful Terry Farell departs the station, I realised Dukat is someone you don't want to meet in a dark lane way.

Which Star Trek DS9 character is your favorite?

Star Trek Into Darkness Verdict

Star Trek XII is now the highest earner of Star Trek's franchise with takings of $328 million in 18 days! J.J. Abrams has done it again! Rotten Tomato critics have given Star Trek Into Darkness the thumbs up with 87 points. Apparently trek's sequel isn't as fresh as the prequel yet it is visually spectacular. The verdict?

I reckon a worldwide $330M boxoffice hit speaks for itself. This time round we get a "rock solid" sequel filmed with 3D action sequences. James Cameron, Avatar's Creator was onboard during Badrobots 3D conversion process giving the film that special alternate reality dimension to fill seats.  Since the relaunch of Abram's Star Trek we've got an action packed origin story with a younger crew rebooting history. (Don't worry we won't peek, hehe.)

When Londons Section 31 building blows up, Starfleets covert operations is no longer secret. I guess Earth needs more undercover guys. In any case John Harrison (who is the genetically augmented superhuman) is really Khan hellbent on revenge. So he devises a masterplan to flush out Starfleet's top brass for some target shooting practise.

Amazingly the Admiralties battle strategists assemble in a war room full of glass windows. Perfect for an aerial ambush with Khan's gunship waiting in the wings, right outside! Kirks the only one whose combat instincts tell him to do something, fast! Remember Ripley yelling at Gorman in Aliens 2, "DO SOMETHING! F**K!!!" I think Star Trek Into Darkness needed an indecisive character with frailities like Gormans but I digress.

"You're just a PAWN Kirk, you cannot even guarantee the safety of your own crew!"

Khan is like a predator playing with his prey. Treks dark villain knew exactly how and where to take his enemies out. He simply wants payback because Starfleet's good guys broke their word! The plot thickens when Admiral Marcus pops up which leads us to the epic manhunt and another mystery. The 72 long range prototype torpedoes with Botany Bay's frozen souls trapped inside. We have to remember, Khan isn't just the bad guy, hes on a mission.

For ages the "John Harrison" mystery led us off course about the baddies true identity. Did you enjoy being kept in the dark, guessing? When Admiral Marcus revealed the existence of a Top Secret Undercover Agent, hes obviously trying to cover his tracks. Starfleet isn't supposed to be a cloak and dagger operation. The Admiral is hiding something because hes dirty but does Kirk realise this?.

How do you rate our space crusaders this time?
What did you make of Pikes final curtain call?
Did you enjoy Dr Carol Marcus striptease with Uhura's heavy breather gawping on standby?
Did Cumberbatches Khanspeak freeze you to your seat?  "No ship should go down without her captain."

Live Long and Prosper.

Elementary Dear Data

E is for Elementary Dear Data which begins with the USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D hanging in space for the USS Victory. In this 28th episode of Star Trek TNG, Chief Engineer La Forge and Commander Data head off to the holodeck for some fun. La Forge suggests playing out a Sherlock Holmes mystery except theres a catch. Data cheats because he jumps to the end! The android accesses his vast memory banks and solves the mystery before it even plays out frustrating La Forge. So Dr Pulaski pipes in professing Data just isn't capable of deductive reasoning. He's a machine, a robot! Right? I mean look at how he talks, walks and computes. Datas got no instinct, so Geordi's determined to prove Pulaski wrong. The fun really begins when Geordi decides to create a new program with a unique mystery capable of defeating DATA!

(Lets think about that for a second. Data has an 800 quadrillion bits "positronic" brain capable of 60 trillion operations per second. Datas impressive positronic brain allows him to interface with other computer systems and process a large number of "thoughts" at once.)

So on the holodeck, Geordi instructs the Enterprise computer to create an adversary capable of defeating the fastest and brightest walking computer on two legs! This was enough to give Picard a meltdown. What this means is Geordi placed the entire Enterprise in peril by creating a super intelligent, sentient "lifeform" with total access to the main computer. Things get real interesting when "Moriarty" tries to leave the holodeck.

Is the definition of life "I think, therefore, I am" the only one that matters?

Will Moriarty cease to exist when the holodeck is turned off?

Star Trek Into Darkness Clues

Star Trek Into Darkness

Release Date: May 17, 2013
Director: J. J. Abrams.

Written By: Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, Damon Lindelof.

Cast: Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve, Bruce Greenwood.

Star Trek Into Darkness is bringing war to the streets of earth with John Harrison whom we suspected was Khan. Forget about Optimism. Hope for the future is long gone! Well, well.... what about its not all over.... wails the devoted trekkie fan. "

Look no further than the Baftas, Alice Eve has denied Cumberbatch is playing Khan which spoils the fun, really. Maybe shes hiding something! Its funny when she says J.J. Abrams has become the ultimate geek hero! So get ready to ship out to the next universe, you know the dark one! Star Trek Into Darkness is romancing fans with life and death.

In the wake of a shocking act of terror from within their own organization, the crew of The Enterprise is called back home to Earth. In defiance of regulations and with a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads his crew on a manhunt to capture an unstoppable force of destruction and bring those responsible to justice. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

The villain, Cumberbatch has been  described as a terrorist, a member of Starfleet on a mission leaving behind a trail of destruction.

So who is John Harrison, I mean REALLY? In order to figure this one out, we must eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth. Alice Eve playing Dr Carol Marcus gives us clueless trekkers something to sink our teeth into. Shes Captain Kirk's ex-sweetheart in the Wrath of Khan. So why is Abrams bringing a Federation Molecular biologist into the movie? Lets not forget her boy, David Marcus the scientist, who played with protomatter and developed a Doomsday Weapon with dear ol' mom, Carol, on Spacelab Regula 1. So perhaps... Cumberbatch playing Khan-type character makes sence after all! There! by Jumping Jupiter I've cracked it. If you've got any better theories..... speak up darn it, or I'll send McCoy after you!

You'll be glad to hear, Keenser, Scotty's alien side kick is coming back! Remember him?

ME! Shut Up!

Treks Into Darkness villainous mysteries just keep getting deeper and deeper. Its self evident John Harrison is the smokescreen. We know Benedict Cumberbatch's villain is out for revenge but oddly, tells the grieving father he can save his sick daughter in the first 9 minutes of the movie. So no Khan, Alice Eve put that rumor to rest, finally? So who is Harrison? Aren't you scratching your head?

In the Super Bowl trailer Harrison says hes better at everything which is trektastic. To trip out some more lets warp ahead to 2267. Captain Kirk records a commendation for Harrison when the bridge of the Enterprise is slowly deprived of life support during Khan's takeover attempt. (Space Seed, TOS.) Yes you gotta love Star Trek lore, its so fascinatingly deep. Tellingly, Captain Kirk doesn't recognize "Harrison" in Star Trek Into Darkness movie trailer, which is weird but then the year is 2259 and so their paths haven't crossed until like now. Star Trek's Encyclopedia states Harrison is a Starfleet Crew Member aboard the original USS Enterprise NCC 1701 in 2267. So who is Cumberbatch's villain? I think this quote sums up treks mystery villain: I've found that evil usually triumphs...unless good is very, very careful.

For reading my entire into darkness rave, you deserve a super prize, LOL. Seriously, I'm really impressed and somehow Spacerguy will find a way to reward you!

Who do you think Benedict Cumberbatch is playing?  Is he Gary Seven, a Khan clone or a Moon Shuttle Conductor?

Khan : I am better
Captain Kirk: At What?
Khan: Everything!

Ready, Captain?
Get me outta here, Scotty.
Are you mad? Are ye out of your vulcan mind? The engines can't take much more of this!

Khan: You think you world is safe? Kirk: Who the hell are you?

Khan: It is an illusion. A comforting lie told to protect you. Enjoy these final moments of peace. For I have returned to have my vengeance. So, shall we begin?

Is there anything you would not do for your family?
I'm Family! Me!!! (Keenser, Scotty's loyal side kick is back!)

Pike: There's greatness in you, but there's not an ounce of humility. You think that you can't make mistakes, but there's going to come a moment when you realize you're wrong about that, and you're going to get yourself and everyone under your command killed.

Star Trek Into Darkness Official Poster

I've been over to Trekmovie to catch the latest scoop on Star Trek Into Darkness and we're still clueless about Star Trek's villain. Trek fans say the guy standing on the pile of ashes looking out towards the ruined city could be Gary Mitchel or Garth of Izar but definitely not Khan! Hey what if the bad guy's Finnegan or Trelane or Gary Seven? So what have we got then?

We've got Star Trek's Into Darkness title leading the way into darker territory. A synopsis from last week, a sweet release of Paramount's official poster depicting a war torn world with a rather unstarfleet caped dude searching for something apparently.

Theres little doubt that this is a cool poster. With Star Trek Into darkness trekkers are bracing themselves for the unexpected and outrageous with J.J. Abrams directing. What will raise the stakes and make the drama more intense?

Star Trek Into Darkness Posters

Pehaps we'll see a high speed chase with plenty of explosive action. We'll need something to stir up emotions in the crew so it wouldn't be Abrams without a few more planets imploding and scotty yelling, 'but Captain I'm giving it all shes got!' LOL.

There'll be the usual hanky panky, The best in USS Enterprise crew hand to hand combat, a crew hot on the tracks of one scarey, destructive, explosive villain who leaves nothing but assassination and carnage behind. It'll be the best hour of sci-fi fun you've ever had! At least thats what fans are secretly hoping for.

Now everyone knows space is a dangerous place and when you give chase after a villain you might just die horribly but.. It takes a special kind of nutter to go out into space and have a crack on purpose. Of course I'm talking about Captain James Kirk. Do you think Benedict Cumberbatch has got what it takes to make Nero look like Mr nice guy?

Destroy long and prosper, Trekkers and Trekkies.

Star Trek Into Darkness

Trekmovie sources have just confirmed the title for J.J. Abrams Star Trek 2013 sequel movie. They're calling it 'Star Trek Into Darkness,' so now the word is given with Paramount's blessing, apparently. Star Trek is crossing over into the DARK SIDE!!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? YESSSS! We've been waiting for this all our lives, right? It couldn't have been easy for the Team Abrams but I reckon its sounds pretty frackin' awesome and conspiratorial too. How cool is this, I mean really? Imagine a mirror, mirror verse Spock wreaking havoc on the Enterprise's young guns! And who's playing angry Spock, Leonard Nimoy, right? Okay so theres gaps in my theory which maybe you can fill in but hey it'll be worth the wait.

Unlike the Dark Knight, Superman and Spiderman theres really no straight forward superhero for Star Trek to cape up and save the universe. Hence the mysterious title which sounds very cloak and daggery and classified too which is great but the suspense is the real killer. I suspect we're not going to get the whole enchilada until the USS Enterprise hits the cinema theaters on May 17th 2013. So why did Paramount and Team Abrams choose 'Star Trek Into Darkness' for the title? Secrecy of course but you knew that!

I'm guessing Star Trek's villain could be DEEP UNDERCOVER, a saboteur on a highly classified Top Secret mission sent by the Mirror-verse Empire. Perhaps this is where time travelling secret agent Gary Seven makes his rescue bid, saving the Enterprise, foiling with Evil Spock in a desperate attempt to restore the timeline before the villainous Empire defeats the friendly Federation! So far, so good but who knows? Sevens secretary played by Alice Eve? mesmerises Evil Spock by turning into a sexy feline cat giving Gary Seven enough time to zap pointy ears, hehe.

Feverish Speculation over whos really playing Star Trek's darkside villain is truly testing trek fans ever since Karl Urban told us trek's villain was going to be Gary Mitchel, LOL and now we're even more clueless, since Abram's sleigh ride began, LOL.

Who do you think is Star Trek's Into Darkness villain?

Heres a list to help confuse you even more, LOL but do go on, have a go! Its all for a good cause.

Star Trek 2's latest villain?

Photobucket

Star Trek's latest Enterprising sequel is definitely steeped in a cloak of mystery except now the shields are weakening! I never thought I'd hear myself say, Yesss! Great, Shields Weakening!!! But its true! Earlier this year Star Trek Sci Fi Blog dished the trek about whos gunning the good guys in Star Trek 2's sequel, except we were wrong.

So whos the bad guy? We hear you ask.

FACT: Fans know Star Trek 2's sequel wrapped up filming by June 2012. Star Trek 2 is set to hit cinemas in May 2013.

At Trekmovie Lieutenant Alex Kurtzman stuck to his phasers backing secretive Trek Bosses, whose production plans DIDN'T include spilling the beans about Star Trek or about the movies latest Villain.

FACT: So we've been told little until now...

Set your phasers on silver eyed esper with delusions of Godhood. hehe!

FACT: Apparently, a little birdie resurrected Gary Mitchel!

But who did this and why?

FACT: Speculation is running rife on the internet about why Karl Urban who plays our cranky Dr McCoy dropped his hypo. Rumor has it, Bones kinda blabbed about Star Trek 2's big bad wolf at SFX.

In June Kurtzman stated at Trek Movie 'theres going to be NO Star Trek for San Diego's Comic Con' in July. Something tells me trek's bosses will be sending out damage control parties to Comic Con? The good doctor has given us enough cordrazine high to last us well into 2013.

Urban's slipup at SFX was probably unintentional despite complimenting Cumberbatch, it doesn't take a trekkie to figure out who's going to take on the crew of Star Trek's USS Enterprise NCC 1701.

"He's awesome, he's a great addition, and I think his Gary Mitchell is going to be exemplary."

I can scarcely believe this news is on the web.

Star Trek Villains

V is for Star Trek villains! Its the big question all trek fans, trekkies and trekkers have likely asked themselves by now. Who playing the next big bad wolf in Abram's Star Trek?

The word is Benedict Cumberbatch has replaced Benicio Del Torio as the big guns in Trek's mystery movie sequel. Cumberbatch is obviously playing the villain in J.J. Abrams new Trek's verse now confirmed by IMDB's Star Trek cast but you have to wonder...Whos he going to be in the movie? Heres a list of likely suspects for you to drool over.

Khan Noonien Singh. The ex-prince of millions and Captain James T. Kirk's nemesis. Apparently Nero's interference with the trek timeline will alter Khans experiences with the USS Enterprise NCC 1701. Its nice knowing years later, Khan still regarded Kirk as "his old friend" even though his cold calculating assassination attempt failed to take over the USS Enterprise NCC 1701. Do you really want to see Ricardo Montleban's character played by a younger actor pitted against the Federations good guys all over again?

The Borg deliver a shocking cutting edge that make you want to sit up and pay attention. The Borg became the United Federations of Planets most ruthless enemy with the loss of 39 ships and 11,000 lives at Wolf 359. Captain Jean Luc Picard's capture and assimilation by the Borg struck a killer blow at the beating heart of the Federation. The Borg have one mission, one hive mind and belong to one collective. Do not cross the Borg unless pain is something you enjoy. Could the Borg be in Star Trek's new movie?

The Mysterious 'Q' trickster is an all time favorite. Q loves testing and tormenting humans, we're become like pets to him. Q has no sense of timing either and nearly always sends Picard diving off the deep edge in sheer frustration. Q once told Jean Luc Picard that he was dead, this was the afterlife and I'm God. Picard refused to believe the universe was that badly designed! What do you think of John De Lancie playing Q the Grim Reaper, Mr Death in the next trek incarnation?

Harry Mudd's misbehaving, ill deeds, heavy drinking and getting into trouble with the law eventually delivers Harry right into the hands of the USS Enterprise NCC 1701. Sweet talking 'Mudd the First' enjoys avoiding questions, cheating Federation justice and escapes from the nagging, exhausting clutches of his lovely wife Stella! Mudd's arcane bag of tricks separates people from their beloved possessions, passing off counterfeit currency and transporting stolen goods but ask yourself something: Could you really see yourself pulling the trigger on poor ol' Harry?

Klingons! Have no fear when we Klingons are here!

In 2267 aboard the K7 Deep Space Station, Korax the klingon called Kirk "an overbearing Tin Plated Dictator with delusions of Godhood and a Denibian Slime Devil." The klingon slagged off the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 which Mr Scott found totally unforgivable! Chekov was outraged but still Mr Scott ordered him to hold his ground, explaining that "everyones entitled to an opinion" so Chekov grudgingly sat down. The Klingon was undetered. "I didn't mean to say that the Enterprise should be hauling garbage, I meant to say that it should be hauled away *as* garbage." All hell breaks loose aboard K7 with Scotty throwing the first punch. Its interesting to note, Klingons were set to be cast in Star Trek 2009 but didn't make it into the movie.

Which Star Trek villain will you be rooting for?

A is for Ardra

A is for Ardra but who is she? Ardra is a mysterious Star Trek character from The Next Generation's episode 'Devils Due.' Over a thousand years ago the planet Ventax II was rocked with civil unrest, pollution, murder and mayhem. We know from Captain Picard's chat with Leader Jared that Ardra delivered the population peace and prosperity except theres a catch.

Ventaxians sign a legally binding contract surrendering their planet to the devil affording citizens a peaceful millennium of prosperity. The deal is struck with the devil except time passes and Ardra returns. Earthquakes rock the planet striking fear into Ventaxian hearts. Apparently the mythical figure Ardra is the real deal but why is Captain Picard suspicious of her powers?

Is Ardra really the devil?

Space Pirates and Space Heroes

The driving force of many Science fiction shows often embroils starship commanders pitted against unreasonable space pirates. In Star Wars, Darth Vader represents the dark side of the force. His corrupt emotions makes him a great space pirate. I loved the scene in the Empire Strikes Back when Vader grabbed Emperor Palpatine and flung him down the death star's reactor shaft, all to save Luke Skywalker. It was great. Later we find out who the man behind the mask is. We need our science fictional heroes to seek out and defeat galactic enemies of peace.

Image Copyright Belongs To Paramount Pictures or CBS Paramount Television

"Fire when ready, Mr Checkov. Lay in a pattern, fire, fire, fire!" is the Kirk attitude! When a ship gets blown to blue blazes or the bad is guy melted by a ray gun, hey thats what you call sci fi exhilaration. My reaction is nearly always, Yessss!!

A great story creates a sense of danger like a threat to the ship or an invasion force beaming aboard just to get the viewer excited! And it works!! I sure didn't feel sorry for Commander Kruge when Kirk shoved him over the cliff on the Genesis planet in Star Trek III. Kirk and Kruge had been fighting for ages and the klingon had it coming. After all, Kruge had Kirk's son David, murdered. Kirk gets his revenge on the ugly Klingon brute who's trying to drag the captain to his death. Finally Kirk has enough! He gives ugly a boot in the face and sends the Klingon warlord flying into the fiery abyss of Genesis flames below. See you sucker! Geeze, those flames sure must have hurt!!!

When the entertaining, clever android, Commander Data in Star Trek's TNG movie "Nemesis", got blown to bits aboard Praetor Shinzon's ship, it was different. I wasn't celebrating when Shinzon's ship went sky high. I was stunned and thinking wheres Data gone, much like Data's Enterprise-D crew mates. Unfortunately there was no escape pod or floating Data in space.

It was a blunt act for the studio to play on the fans. The Trekkies were hit hard. I was left in a state of puzzled, emotional turmoil. My android hero Data was gone. Sniff, maybe its a hit trend. So which sci fi hero is going to be snuffed out next?

I've recently learnt from trektoday that William Shatner aka Captain James T. Kirk is not going to be in Star Trek XI. What a shocker. Spock, Kirk(TOS) and co-stars work a special magic onscreen. So why delay? New isn't always better. You'd think Paramount could make Trek films with new talent anytime. The "current movie talent" TOS and TNG are missed badly...

William Shatner was very disappointed, but Leonard Nimoy aka Spock got a part. It'll be good to see pointy ears again.

Star Trek XI is the movie where the "trio" Kirk, Spock, and McCoy get to meet up as young men, going back to their academy days.

Moving on, in 1978 the Daily Intelligencer caught my interest. Seemingly Cylon Warriors have a Prime Directive and it doesn't concern ethics or non interference with other cultures. Oh No. The Cylon Prime Directive involves seeking out and destroying all earthling lifeforms. Gasp. Imagine watching that, doesn't it send a shiver of excitement down your back?...

Live Long and prosper, trekker earthlings!

Milky Way Quadrants

Seeking out new life on new civilizations is a job for Captain Picard's super fast Galaxy Class Enterprise NCC 1701-D. In our galaxy, the Milkyway is home for earth's happy ball of beings, Vulcans, Cardassians, Vidians, Romulans, Warrior Klingons (tolerant towards weakling humans), and friendly intelligent lifeforms too, all scattered across the stars in the great expanse of space. Diverse Intergalactic aliens live in the Gamma Quadrant, Delta Quadrant, Alpha Quadrant and Beta Quadrant. But who cares, right?

The galaxy is full of intelligent races and murderers, fascinating creatures really except beware! Some races like the flesh diseased Vidians only want to meet you, so they can steal your precious organs. These alien lifeforms will leave you gasping for your last breath of fresh air as darkness descends and closes in on you! Other bloodthirsty villains like Khan Noonian Singh set their sights a little higher and go after bigger fish to fry. Captain James T. Kirk encountered Khan with designs to exact revenge on the starship USS Enterprise NCC 1701 just to settle old scores. Its very cold in the vacuum of space. So don't get mad just get even!

The four quadrants of the Milkyway stretch across 100,000 light years with a center swell or black hole extending 10,000 light years. The Milkyway black hole has been nicknamed "The Monster" by experts studying physical and chemical properties of celestial bodies in the sector. Each quadrant is extremely large.

According to Spock's logical computations and analytical equations, each quadrant is estimated to be eight billion cubic light years, containing hundreds of thousands of sectors. A sector is a primary unit of measurement in charted space, 20 light years across and encompassing 5- 10 star systems.

The close proximity of the stars at the core of the spiral galaxy is dangerous to navigate for any starship. Black holes, dark energy and dark matter exists in the vast expanses of the universe so imagine running into one of those in your intrepid starship. In the reality of Star Trek, such encounters don't pose a great risk for Federation starships. Spacecraft simply navigate around them! HAHA! What about when USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D was thrown across space to Galaxy M33, on the far side of Triangulum.? Yes I did use the word "thrown." An impressive 2.7 million lightyears away from earth but fortunately thanks to the "Travellers" input the Enterprise-D brought everyone back! How extremely fortunate for Picard's ship. The crew escaped the galaxies bountiful pitfalls that should at the very least have trapped or gobbed up the Flagship USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D.

The unknown inspires us to make new discoveries. Its the only way earthlings can truly unlock the supreme mystique surrounding the celestial treasures in space, which is why we must continue with our space programme, develop our technologies, educate ourselves and build a wicked starship!

Kirk's Klingon Encounters

Kirk has always been deeply suspicious of Klingons. In 2267 aboard the K7 Deep Space Station, Korax the klingon called Kirk "an overbearing Tin Plated Dictator with delusions of Godhood and a Denibian Slime Devil." (Tribble Trouble) The klingon slagged off the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 which Mr Scott found unforgivable! (Scotty's Deep Space K-7 Shoreleave.) Chekov was outraged but Mr Scott ordered him to hold his ground, explaining that "everyones entitled to an opinion" so Chekov grudgingly sat down. The Klingon was undetered. "I didn't mean to say that the Enterprise should be hauling garbage; I meant to say that it should be hauled away *as* garbage." All hell breaks loose aboard K7 with Scotty throwing the first punch.

In 2267 the planet Organia becomes a Klingon military occupation. Kirk and Spock are trapped on the planet. They go undercover. The military Klingon Commander Korr and self declared Governor of Organia does not take prisioners but instead has many of the troublemakers snuffed out as a warning.

Khan Noonien Singh was a human augment from the throwbacks of earth's eugenics wars. He was the ruling prince on earth worshipped by a quarter of the population between 1992 and 1996. Now defeated and exhiled the ex-prince of millions retreated with his 84 loyal subjects aboard the safety of the U.S.S. Botany Bay to escape earths orbit and recover from his war wounds. Kirk's Enterprise had the misfortune of coming to Khan's salvation. The discovery of the Botany Bay was picked up by the U.S.S. Enterprises sensors who beamed aboard to investigate this ancient sleeper ship. Year later, Khan still regarded Kirk as "his old friend" even though his cold calculating assassination attempt failed in his plot to take over the Enterprise.

"KIRK! Kirk you're still alive, my old friend..." affection is heard in the Princes voice.
"Still OLD FRIEND! You've managed to kill just about everyone else, but like a poor marksman, you keep missing the target." responded a badly shaken Kirk, clearly enraged.

In 2285 Captain James Tiberius Kirk prepared for fierce combat with the Klingon Commander Kruge superbly played by Christopher Llyod on the planet Genesis. (Commander Kruge Is a Dynamic, Powerthirsty, Merciless Klingon Warrior)Kruge did'nt care how he got his weapon of ultimate power. Killing Kirks son David and fighting Kirk was just bad timing.

This Klingon Kruge guy just happens to be a hot tempered, merciless klingon not to be trifled with. Except Kirk's done just that by blowing Kruge's USS Enterprise NCC 1701-A Invasion-force to bits, a class act as Kirk's crew beamed off the ship. Captain Kirk's experiences with brutal savage Klingons stretch far beyond Organia and the Genesis Planet.

General Chang, a likeable, sneaky Klingon brilliantly played by Christopher Plummer tried to blow Kirk and the Enterprise NCC 1701-A's crew to smithereens using a cloaked bird of prey.
"O come now Kirk, you do prefer it this way. In space all warriors are cold warriors." At least General Chang had a sense of humor.

Last but not least, our own special little Klingon Geiger Counters were hard at work in the Trouble with Tribbles Star Trek episode. The chance to observe these special furry little critters emitting purring sounds had a strangly relaxing effect on me and the tribbles kept the Klingons from turning wicked evil on K7. Here is some of the best home viewing with Kirk's encounters with Klingons.
